Bad News Is More Heat Now; Good News Is Rain And Cooler Next Week

October 4, 2019

The high temperature in Pensacola on Thursday “absolutely obliterated the previous daily high temperature record,” according to the National Weather Service Service in Mobile.

Pensacola’s high temperature of 97 shattered the old record of 91 for the day. Not only that, it also broke the record for the hottest day on record for the month of October, a record that was set just a couple of day before on October 1.

The bad news is more record heat is on tap for Friday as temperatures top out once again in the 90s.

The good news a cold front will push through the area after the weekend. It won’t be one of those grab the sweater kid of cold fronts, but it will lower temperatures more in line with normal for this time of the year. By next week, we are looking at highs in the 80s and lows into the lower 60s.

And more good news: the cold front will bring some rain.
