Marcus Dewayne Mitchell

Mr. Marcus Dewayne Mitchell, 63 passed away Saturday, September 21, 2019, at his home in Nokomis, Alabama.

Mr. Mitchell was a lifelong resident of Walnut Hill, FL. He was a loving father, brother, and grandfather and he never met a stranger. He was a disabled veteran of the U.S. Army and a member of the Poarch Band of Creek Indians. He is preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Vaden Gibson Mitchell.

Marcus is survived by his son, Douglas Mitchell of Lottie, AL; his daughter, Elizabeth Daughtery (Andrew) of Atmore, AL; one grandson, Houston Daughtery of Atmore, AL; three brothers, Mervin Gibson (Marsha) of Walnut Hill, FL; Riley Mitchell (Jean) of Harold, FL and Malcolm Mitchell (Vanessa) of Leaksville, MS; two sisters, Susie McCann (Gilbert)of McCullough, AL, and Michelle Ivey (Kookie) of Nokomis, AL; a special niece, Stephanie Cook (Ricky) of Booneville, AL; and a special thanks to three special caregivers; Shelby Sellers, Davisha Johnson and Camille Nettles.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, September 25, 2019 at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Bro. Malcolm Harrelson officiating.

Burial was at Walnut Hill Baptist Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Ricky Cook, Doyle Dobbins, Rave Jackson, John Solomon, Gwen McGhee, Gilbert Hadley.

Honorary pallbearers were Billy Rex Gibson, Bud Mitchell, Jack Mitchell, Kookie Lassiter, Ronnie Mitchell, Jeremy Gibson .

Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Homes is in charge of all arrangements.
