Man Charged With Manslaughter After Baby Dies With Fractured Skull

An Escambia County man han been charged with the death of a baby.

Courtland Ahmad Freeman, 32, was arrested and charged with aggravated manslaughter of a child domestic violence and aggravated child abuse domestic violence.

The child was transported by Escambia County EMS to Sacred Heart Hospital from after it stopped breathing at a home on Hillcrest Avenue. An autopsy found the child’s skull was fractured in five places and he had severe retinal hemorrhaging.

Freeman is being held in the Escambia County Jail. His bond was set Thursday at $1 million.

    Aggravated manslaughter? Are you serious? This is a defenseless baby. Why not murder? Where is the justice? And people wonder why people keep doing terrible things. Because there is no punishment to fit the crime. They get a slap on the wrist, do a little time, get 3 free meals a day, a free bed and be out and do it again.
    Our judicial system is disgusting. Too liberal

    I have no words. The evil that possess some people and lead them to hurt poor innocent children/babies like this – its just mind numbing! I hope “Bubba” and God take care of this piece of crap. He does not deserve to live. Lord please accept this baby into your loving arms, something he obviously didn’t experience here on this earth.
