Hill Removed From Public Integrity And Ethics Committee

September 1, 2019

Republican Rep. Mike Hill, who represents North Escambia, has been stripped from the House Public Integrity & Ethics Committee.

Hill received sharp bipartisan criticism earlier this year after controversial remarks and laughter when asked by a political meeting audience member if he would sponsor legislation for men that have relations with other men. On an audio tape of the exchange, Hill laughs and says, “I wonder how that would go over.”

Hill was condemned by members of both parties and drew comment from Gov Ron DeSantis.

While Hill was removed from the Public Integrity & Ethics Committee, which investigates ethical issues, he remains on the Civil Justice Subcommittee, the Judiciary Committee and the PreK-12 Innovation Subcommittee, according to an assignment list released Friday afternoon by House Speaker José Oliva.

    How disgusting, that the demonic left and their political correctness were able to remove a man of integrity from a committee that we need him on. I have known Mike for many years. He is a friend of mine and I know him to be a humble, honest, Christian man. Mike would not support any legislation supporting the execution of homosexuals, and for anyone to even entertain such an idea is ridiculous. This was a political hack job, an act of sabotage from the Satanic led liberals and with all the mess they are doing, I would think some of you would wise up. Mike will continue to Represent Escambia County. This debacle has done nothing, but empower his base.

    Romans 1:27-28 KJV
    And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet. [28] And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;

    @Concerned Citizen

    If you wish to live in a theocracy, where laws are based on religious beliefs, may I recommend purchasing some land in Yemen, Saudi Arabia, Iran, or Afghanistan. Vatican City will work too, but I dont think they have many vacancies.

    @ Concerned citizen: Leviticus is a very interesting chapter in the Bible. You may wish to read the whole chapter and see the other things that are wrong to do. No tattoo’s, no shell fish, no fish with out scales.( there goes the catfish, shrimp and oysters). Also most young males have “spilled their seeds on the ground”. mixing clothing of cloth and fur and so on. Most are punishable with death. I guess we must skip David’s in Atmore or the Shrimp Baskets.

    I am a christian mother who has a gay son. He was born that way. I was sad when I learned he was gay but not because I am christian. I was sad because I am scared someone will hurt him or kill him, No politician or anyone should want to make or predict a bill to kill someone. If you truly are a christian then you will know that God is love. being gay may be a sin according to the bible but also according to the bible, no one sin is greater than the other.

  6. Concerned Citizen on September 1st, 2019 10:43 pm

    That was a set-up, he was elected on his beliefs and fighting for what’s right. There is nothing right about homosexuality, I mean nothing. If you don’t believe me, you may want to read a Bible, possibly Sodom and Gomorrah and/or Leviticus 20:13.

    How many of you listened to audio recording?

    https://youtu.be/5YID_kjKvIY

    @Denny, when you made a half hearted attempt to quote Representative Hill, why didn’t you finish it? He also said “Thats enough of that” immediately thereafter. I take it that the meeting is in more of a relaxed atmosphere and somebody happened to be recording. A chuckle is not the same as saying yes they should be executed.

    Truth is, if Mike Hill was a black democrat. He would probably be still seated on that committee for making the same comment. Could he have handled his response differently? maybe, probably, maybe he was just caught off guard. At the end of the day you have to judge a politician on their record not by one instance of a time and one single comment. I posted the audio recording above so y’all listen to it and judge it for yourself.

    Truth is, we have a lot of republican leaders that do have any backbone. And thankfully we finally have someone that does and that has, President Trump. I didn’t initially want to vote for him , but right now I’m glad I did.

    I don’t think Mike Hill wants to execute lgbtq people, but i do believe that is about 40-50 years away along with alot of other things of Gods judgement on America.

    To all that are against it…

    You won’t be for it until it effects you. Why do you care what people do in their bedrooms ? i’m straight and i dont care. However, I don’t like to see public displays of affection by gays, lesbians or straight people. All of it belongs private in my humble opinion.

    There are over two dozen types of laughter that could relay different messages some very subtle some with great outburst.

    Please explain.

    Hahaha! Been living in central Escambia for almost 50 years.

    I have some challenges neighbors…

    “Clearly, they are pissed he is trying to get our gun rights back”…….your gun rights have never been taken away.

    On that note maybe he’ll have more time now to visit Century and write meaningful bills not the junk he’s been writing just to appease his base.

  13. Tee bug on September 1st, 2019 2:06 pm

    I am sorry but someone needs to make a stand but unfortunately in our world today even the homos have rights this is why I would never be involved in politics cause I could never support or defend this wrong and sinful way of life

  14. Denny on September 1st, 2019 2:03 pm

    John, there was no video, only an audio, and Hill wasn’t asked if he would support gay legislation. He wasn’t set up, he was meeting with a group of conservatives. The facts are that he was asked if he could introduce legislation to execute gay people. He chuckled and asked how well that would go over. He could have responded about the extent of government power to execute fellow citizens, but didn’t bother. Just like he doesn’t bother to work with other legislators to get his bills passed. You have to do more than just file bills to be effective. Bills that go nowhere don’t protect anyone’s rights.

  15. molino jim on September 1st, 2019 1:47 pm

    @ ChillyWillyYou are on target and correct with your comment. It was not the “one incident” he made—look at other comments he has made, and the lack of getting his bills that he came up with passed and not hand crafted by groups and handed to him. To bad he has taken the easy road and not done the job he was elected to do.

  16. Preston Hardy on September 1st, 2019 1:45 pm

    A man who openly despises his fellow human beings should have no place on that committee.

  17. chillywilly on September 1st, 2019 11:34 am

    Thank You, who keeps voting for this guy. He has never got one single bill
    passed in the house. Name one single thing he has accomplished that has benefited his district. Politicians only concern Getting Re-Elected
    If you want a change from all this craziness then VOTE

  18. chip on September 1st, 2019 10:30 am

    He is a good representative. I hope he would not sponsor or support any legislation that supports men in relationships with other men.

  19. Lou on September 1st, 2019 10:10 am

    It’s all in who’s listening and interpretation……..we can be so sensitive regarding some things and not to others.

  20. paul on September 1st, 2019 10:09 am

    he shouldn’t have ever been in that position to start with.

  21. Mountain Molehill on September 1st, 2019 9:54 am

    @WORRIED RESIDENT

    If other elected officials have said worse with no consequences, perhaps it’s time that our representatives are held accountable for their words and actions. Silence is complicity.

  22. Angelique on September 1st, 2019 9:42 am

    Clearly, they are pissed he is trying to get our gun rights back. They are actually willing to throw lame useless gender bull his way as an excuse to remove him. Being able to protect yourself on planet Earth is way more important than what a couple of dudes do in a bedroom. Why don’t we back him up on the real issues. I voted for him twice and it seems like he cares about whether our children get their constitutional rights back! Thank you, sir. The activists are targeting our cops and some young are trying them. Even they would appreciate if we could protect ourselves when their hands are so full. Have respect and be civilized everyone..this is The USA.

  23. john on September 1st, 2019 9:30 am

    Just goes to show you that you stand for what is right, they will find any excuse to get you removed. You ask a Christian man if you will support gay legislation…..sounds like a political correctness trap was set for Hill. There are over two dozen types of laughter that could relay different messages some very subtle some with great outburst. I haven’t seen the video, but maybe he show have said NO! and left it at that…..thats what would have said. I might have come one step further an said “Im going to do all in my power to have some passed legislation to be reversed.

    No Surprise, if one is investigated by the same committee on which they serve it would seem there is the opportunity for a Conflict of Interest.

    Only those of our politicians who are without any sort of blemish on their records and who are totally invincible to outside influences should serve on such a committee of oversight.

    Thankfully, Florida has only the best, brightest and most public servant citizen oriented advocates that one could possibly wish for.

  25. Jim on September 1st, 2019 8:43 am

    He was removed for not following the current amoral agenda?

  26. EMD on September 1st, 2019 7:03 am

    I do not know Rep. Hill, but from what I just read here, he does not sound like the one who lacks integrity. To me, the ones with the problem are the ones with the subversive induced disease called “political correctness,” which now days is contrary to what The Bible says is correct. But, this was foretold. Today, many call good “evil,” and evil “good.” If one does not go along with the rampant ungodliness so rampant in this world today, THEY are the ones that are accused of having an integrity problem. Someone needs to stand up against the perversion and lack of true Love in the world and call things what they are. Every kind of perversion is rampant and I thank God for anyone who will stand against it. Seems he is being made an “offender for a word.” Yes, The Word speaks to that also. Isaiah 29:21

  27. deBugger on September 1st, 2019 6:14 am

    oh, YEAH…
    THIS is a BIG surprise.

    {is the sarcasm dripping enough for everyone to get it?}

  28. WORRIED RESIDENT on September 1st, 2019 3:52 am

    OMG, let it be known that I voted, but I didn’t vote for Hill. With that being said, that doesn’t seem like enough to remove him from the committee. Elected officials have said far worse with no consequences.

  29. Citizen on September 1st, 2019 2:29 am

    Well he won’t answer an email regarding Century so as far as I am concerned he can pound sand.
