Heat Advisory: Weekend Highs Around 100; Heat Index 108-112

There is heat advisory in effect for the weekend.

Heat related illness may occur if spending prolonged periods of time outdoors and proper precautions are not taken, according to the National Weather Service. As afternoon temperatures rise to near 100 degrees, the heat index will soar to near 112 on Sunday.

Tonight: Mostly clear, with a low around 74. Northwest wind around 5 mph becoming calm.

Sunday: A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly sunny and hot, with a high near 98. Heat index values as high as 107. Calm wind becoming south around 5 mph.

Sunday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 75. South wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the evening.

Monday: A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 1pm. Mostly sunny, with a high near 95. Heat index values as high as 105. Calm wind becoming southeast around 5 mph in the afternoon.

Monday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 73. South wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the evening.

Tuesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 93. East wind around 5 mph becoming south in the afternoon.
