Fire Damages Nine Mile Road Paint And Body Shop; Dog Rescued From ‘Allie Kats’

Fire heavily damaged a pant and body shop and several vehicles inside of it late Saturday night.

The fire at Alley Kats Paint and Body in the 1800 block of West Nine Mile Road, just west of Stefani Road, was reported just before midnight.

There were no injuries reported. Firefighters were able to rescue a dog inside the business and reunite it with family.

There was no immediate word on the cause of the blaze.

    So sorry to see this happen to such a nice man!!! He recently worked on my company car and I got to meet his WONDERFUL little dog Jack! I fell in love with him so much I brought my wife up there to meet him as well. She ended up grooming the dog a few days later. Praying for a positive outcome for Ed and his family!!

    Glad no one was hurt, and that the shop dog was rescued. Praying for the owner and his family. I know this will be a major impact on their lives; this small shop is their only source of livelihood.

    I made the call to 911. So happy to see no one harmed and the sweet dog got out safely. Prayers go out to the sweet owner, family and friends we talked to.
