Traffic Shift To New Pensacola Bay Bridge Has Been Delayed Again

August 3, 2019

The planned traffic shift to the new Pensacola Bay Bridge has once been pushed back again.

Highway 98 eastbound traffic was to transfer to the new span on Sunday, August 4 with eastbound to follow next Thursday, August 8. But now that has been postponed by the Florida Department of Transportation.

FDOT has not announced new dates for the traffic shift schedule because there is still paving work to been done on the bridge approach.

This was the second time the opening of the new bridge has been delayed.

Bill. You sound silly. The old bridge is not structurely sound anymore, thus the reason the state did spend 400 million for a new one. No choice but to build it. Do some research

Why dont they just post a date when everything on that side has been finished..so what if it sits there fully operational for a couple days after completion…at least no ones hopes will be up only to be let down for a 3rd time!!

Another wast of money, Would have been a lot cheaper just to do maintenance on the old bridge if it really needed it. Got money to build another bridge that is not needed than to fix something that really needs it.
Let’s blow the peoples money we can always add another tax.
