August 16, 2019

Two people were seen running from a stolen vehicle after a traffic crash with injuries Friday morning on Pine Forest Road, leading to a manhunt in the area.

Witnesses told the Florida Highway Patrol that two people ran from a stolen red 2016 Chrysler 200 after the wreck about 10:30 a.m. on Pine Forest at Wilde Lake Boulevard and I-10, according to FHP Lt. Robert Cannon. Two people — driver Joanne Brancati, 55, and passenger Cesar Antonini, 51 — were transported to Sacred Heart Hospital with minor injuries.

The photo above taken for NorthEscambia.com reportedly shows one of the suspects running from the stolen vehicle. The photo has been provided to the FHP to assist with their investigation.

An Escambia County Sheriff’s Office K-9 and other law enforcement conducted search for the suspect, who was believed to have entered a wooded area. There were no arrests.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Florida Highway Patrol or their local law enforcement agency.

There was a stolen car report on the dispatch record within minutes prior to the crash. I don’t think the two guys were caught. Someone who was sitting in McDonald’s when it happened said two guys jumped out and ran. One was real tall. I hope they find who did this. Two families are now without their vehicles due to theft and the resulting accident.
