Update: Fifth Suspect Arrested In Ensley Shooting

August 8, 2019

The fifth suspect has been arrested in an Ensley home invasion shooting.

Dominique Roger Warren Sr. was booked into the Escambia County Jail at 2:12 p.m. Thursday.

Chief Deputy Chip Simmons said Dominique Roger Warren Sr., Tequan Devontae Warren, and Katron Shawn Long broke into a Gardenia Circle home early Monday morning, ambushed a woman as she was sleeping and shot her.  Her son heard the commotion and shot at the intruders, hitting Tequan Warren who drove himself to the hospital. Tequan and Long were later arrested.

The son also suffered a gunshot wound.

Bianca Richelle Lutley and Jonathan Nikos Butler were also charged. Lutley was allegedly the getaway driver.

All five face aggravated battery and home invasion charges.

Guns aren’t the problem. The problem is ignorant people are abusing the use of guns. We live in a society that promotes murder. Some of the hottest video games treats a human as a target. Sadly many people can’t seperate gaming from reality. Then the other part is DRUGS, until there is tougher laws on drug crimes, there will continue to be murder, robbery, and so forth.

There’s a way to fix our crime problem, but it’s going to take someone with some real backbone, and it’s going to get real ugly!

  4. Sad... on August 8th, 2019 9:14 pm

It’s sad that nearly every day we get a new story about a shooting, murder or shooting/home invasion on the news. Nearly every single story involves drugs or drug dealing. Most of these “events” are happening on the west side of Pensacola and escambia county. Yet, the only story ppl are mad about is a Pensacola PD officer shooting a drug dealer… Their not mad about innocent people like Elizabeth Harris getting gunned down, by most likely drug dealers beefing with each other. Not mad about the two men killed on Old Cory Field road at their business… The residents on the west side at mad at a cop for shooting a drug dealer that disarmed another officer and was literally going to contrail for drug trafficking in like a week. In 2019, our community has some serious misguided priorities. Also, if you think somehow the mayor asking for federal help is going to do you any good then your kidding yourself. The feds rely on local law enforcement so they can do their jobs. So they are basically useless; the government throwing money at the problem will not fix it. Drug dealers and thugs are taking over and the lack of community involvement is allowing it.

    @Sonny
If they found drugs in the house and this was a drug related shooting then the residents need to be arrested also. being the victim of a violent crime doesn’t excuse one form wrong doing. If the victims were drug dealers then they need to be arrested and prosecuted.

sunny.. the residents that got shot were drug dealers. The whole mess was over dealing and stealing and shooting because of DRUGS.
Sometimes I just have to wonder how many times does a dealer get robbed that we know NOTHING about. Only when there is a shooting AND that person goes to the hospital do the police even know.

The Sheriff’s Department will get to the bottom of this.

When you associate yourself and be part of illegal doings and bad people, then bad things happen. I read another article that stated investigators are considering the shooting a drug-related incident. Deputies found narcotics in the residence during the course of their investigation.

I pray the residents recover from their injuries and get their life turned around.

I was in the Ensley Wal-Mart Monday and thought it was a prime example of “if you don’t have a gun when you enter the door then they issue one to you for your own protection.” Doesn’t look like I was far off.

Maybe Morgan’s gleaming smile in his photo op with the drug bust could make his way over to the Ensley area and actually do some policing. However, that likely won’t happen unless he can bring aling the camera crews.
