At least one person was injured in a crash Wednesday in the car rider line at Ransom Middle School on West Kingsfield Road.
One vehicle occupant was transported to Sacred Heart Hospital by Escambia County EMS, according to an Escambia County spokesperson.

This just happened to me at KES. I drove 35-38 mph because the school’s traffic signal was not on yet. The person behind me is very impatient and is pushing me to drive faster than that approaching the elementary school. I thought he would go straight because he is such in a hurry but guess what he is also turning to the gate to the car rider line of the elem. school and still following me. He then drove to the left lane and then passed me and switched to my lane when I’m about to park to the next vehicle on the right/in my lane. I gave up that spot on the right lane because I don’t want to be behind of that **e! People have no manners anymore here in America! And that is SAD! Poor kids having these kind of parents to raise them.
I use to live across the school and this does not surprise me. Probably someone tried to cut in the car rider line. I complained numerous times and finally got them to put a sheriff out there by the road. Don’t think they do that anymore. Parents use to try and pick up there kids in our driveway and the driveway on the side. Some of these parents act more immature then their own kids.
He was not doing no 10mps bc i was one of the ones in the back seat of the truck that got hit and he was doing more then 10mps dont let him lie to yall
We need some legislation passed that will target certain drivers and get them off the road permanently. I have driven all over the the United States, and driver’s in this county are some of the worst. Drivers around New York City, and Chicago have better driving sense than many of you, and I am from here saying this.
To “I wait in that line” – the school sent a note home saying that those who are picking up at the elementary school should park in the bus parking for the elementary school so they can get out that way. It’s you people parking way back and sitting that mess up the line for everyone waiting to pick up at the actual school. If everyone would obey the rules, there wouldn’t be a problem.
10 mph posted zone….. Hmmm, car you have there really looks jacked up..
Glad it was a car they hit and not a child.
Good point, Pat. It’s the private road in the school’s loading area. That’s more than what the 5mph crash bumper could withstand.
If they were doing 10 mph with that much damage, I dont want whatever kind of car that is. Dang it man!!!!!!
In the car rider line ?? Seriously?
How does this happen in a car rider line. How fast were they going?
Pay attention people; it’s not that hard or eventually it is.
honest officer i was only doing 10 MPH or they stopped to fast.
I know a lot about crashes….. That “import” must have tapped a domestic brand
I agree with Pat!
..Looks like Ransom is offering “distracted driving ” classes…
Geez how fast were they traveling to do that much damage ? #schoolzone
Not surprised by this at all. The parents that move cones to get ahead, drive around others waiting, drive through Kingsfield Elementary parking lot and cut in front of other parents that showed up early daily is unreal… I explain to my kids this is the reason some of the kids behave the way they do at school because they are being raised by parents that have NO manners! If Ransom could allow those parents picking up from Kingsfield to enter and form a line at Kingsfield Elementary (and exit after picking up), then the parents picking up in front of Ransom to enter just on Ransom side and form the crazy line we used to years ago this may avoid some pissed off parents. I know there have been several days I wanted to drive down the middle of the lane so the rude, impatient parents couldn’t get ahead but I’m not like them. Kudos to the SO and Dean Baird for their efforts in trying to control those wild animals (aka parents)!!
