New Details: Century Man Charged With Raping 16-Year Old Girl, Breaking Into Church Building

August 22, 2019

A Century man is charged with grabbing a 16-year old girl she walked to the library in Century, raping her and then breaking into a church building where he helped himself to bottles of water and bag of chips.

Na’Keetric Devonte Davison, 27, is charged with sexual battery of a victim over 12 and below 18, battery, kidnapping of a child to commit sexual battery, battery by strangulation, robbery, burglary, criminal mischief with property damage and resisting arrest. On Thursday, a judge set his bond amount at $500,000..

The Escambia County Sheriff’s Office responded to the area of Highway 29 and McCurdy Street Wednesday afternoon where a teen female exiting the woodline told deputies she had been raped by a man that fled the area on foot.

A passerby called 911 to  reported a disturbance after seeing a man pulled the teen into wooded area.

According to an arrest report obtained by NorthEscambia.com, the 16-year old white female was obviously hysterical, standing with her jeans unzipped and her hair in disarray. She told deputies she was walking south on the sidewalk to the Century Branch Library when she was approached from behind by a black male that asked her for some change. She stated the black male, later identified as Davison, grabbed her and pulled her into a wooded area adjacent to the sidewalk. Davison then grabbed her by the throat, slammed her to the ground and told her not to scream or he would kill her, the report states.

The teen told deputies that Davison then sexually assaulted her before telling her again that he would kill her if she screamed out. He then took her wallet from inside her purse and fled on foot into the woods.

The teen was transported to a local hospital for medical treatment.

A perimeter was established, and Davison was tracked by deputies and K-9 units from the Escambia County Road Prison and the Century Correctional Institution.

Davison was found inside a small building used as a meeting room adjacent to the New Calvary Church at Zion and Jackson streets. Had kicked in the door of the building in order to gain entry, according to an arrest report, and consumed several bottles of water and a bag of chips.

It is so bad when our young girls cannot even walk to the library and take a walk outside these days.. I am praying for the young girl. I know by Florida law he will be tried and convicted. Our rape laws are good in Florida. I have granddaughters who like to go bike riding, etc. outside. This makes it hard to allow them outside. May God help us all that our Country will be great again. thanks for letting me sound off. 80 year old Christian grandmother

I can only say I wish a third party would have entered the woods with weapon and made his lights go Out! For good!

  3. Jeanne on August 24th, 2019 4:34 pm

Rape is about control of the victim..it can be brought on by a stressor, but it this case I believe he was intent on robbing her and rape was a second thought.Mentally ill he is not..he knew what he was doing and fled to avoid being caught.Blessedly he was! incarceration for a minimum of 25 to life is the answer. He is not going to be rehabilitated..75% of all rapist reoffend and it seems this man has no sense of remorse!

I pray the young woman will receive counseling to help her overcome this trauma!

  4. Not a victim on August 24th, 2019 11:32 am

I concur with the motion for castration. I will provide the10 pound wooden sledge hammer, you know like the ones used to put up the circus tents. No cutting required.

  5. JustSaying on August 24th, 2019 8:59 am

@Nobody I just said the same thing as you! BUT, we don’t know the other Driver’s situation that called, he/she may have been disabled, had kids with them, etc. Thank God they made the call or he might have killed her.

I do agree about getting involved, if you can physically and safely yourself till the authorities arrive!

Just thinking of this little girl, and my prayer are with her and I hope, she will over come all this,it will take time im sure, but with God all things are possable ,and he will see her threw this.some one had a comment to say he had to be mental, not so,he’s a real sickco, and deserves to be in jail for the rest of his life, and my heart goes out to her and her family.maybe he will see buba in prison.

  8. Sad for the victim on August 23rd, 2019 1:27 pm

Very sad that this young girl had to go through this experience. Glad the perpetrator was caught. Hopefully that will help her in her healing process knowing that he can not offend again. Sadly some humans are not capable of rehabilitation and should be kept incarcerated when found guilty by the law.

  9. Anonymous on August 23rd, 2019 10:48 am

This individual is clearly mentally ill and is in dire need for help prison or a mental home I am sorry about the poor victim no one should ever have to experience something like that

  10. Century Correctional Institution on August 23rd, 2019 4:13 am

Great work to our K-9 crew and the fellow agencies that assisted ECSO with catching this piece of crap!!

  11. J cook on August 23rd, 2019 12:58 am

The world is in terrable shape, and the devil is working over time, because he knows he don’t have long, this scumbag will have to answer to our God almighty,he will pay,it’s not the girls fault, what is wrong with people?

  12. citizen on August 23rd, 2019 12:35 am

To concerned citizen…He was caught….she can identify him…there is plenty of evidence.

  13. citizen on August 23rd, 2019 12:28 am

to Random Resident who said….. “Just because you remove their way to commit this crime, that’s not going to change their intentions.” medically….. by castration Physically the desire will disappear. Lowers testosterone . It does work. This is not cruel. It is just. There is no correcting someone that abuses another in this manner but by castration. He has become a madman… unable to control himself.

  14. MRM on August 22nd, 2019 10:21 pm

Concerned Citizen…You are so wrong to even ask what she said to him that made him react to her. There is never a reason for a man to do this to a female, ever. If this had happened to one of your female relatives would you be blaming her. Shame on you for being the way you are. Your name Concerned Citizen isn’t for her for sure.

  15. Scott on August 22nd, 2019 10:10 pm

@Concerned Citizen to even suggest this is somehow the victim’s fault places you in the same league as the suspect. May God have mercy on your twisted sense of right and wrong.

  16. Beth on August 22nd, 2019 7:30 pm

Concerned! Did you really say that???!!!!

  17. Nobody on August 22nd, 2019 6:53 pm

I’m glad the concerned caller made that call but we as citizens have to act. If I ever saw someone forcefully pulling someone into a wooded area I’m going in there to see what the problem is. Of course I would call 911 and have them on the way but we got to act and not wait on the police to show up. Maybe by acting and at least making your presence known this could have been stopped before it ever got started.

  18. Mary G on August 22nd, 2019 6:36 pm

Hopefully, the victim/s of this crime will have justice. Let the evidence prevail and the guilty party found to be guilty by the court.

  19. Random Resident on August 22nd, 2019 5:47 pm

Yes, rape is a horrid act, but castration isn’t justice. It is just punishment. Our Department of Corrections isn’t about punishing the unruly. It’s about correcting them. If they seem to be at a state of they won’t find correction, then they need life in prison or something that is not cruel and unusual. Like I said, rape it is a scary and disgusting crime, but think about it. Just because you remove their way to commit this crime, that’s not going to change their intentions. Its like removing the hands of someone convicted of murder with a gun. If someone wants to harm someone they will find a way to do it. Besides Alan is right. Those are the charges until proven otherwise in a court of law. That is why we have our Bill of Rights. Personally I believe he’s guilty but he hasn’t had a court trial yet.

@anonymous, I’m so sorry this happened to you, you will never know for sure why he chose you other than he had opportunity. I sincerely hope that you won’t allow this to consume you, but use it to make yourself stronger, you have a lot of life to live and this incident doesn’t define you, unless you allow it too.
Please talk to a professional, look online, lots of help out there that can help you deal with this in a positive way, instead of self medicating.

  21. Concerned citizen on August 22nd, 2019 5:20 pm

This man is innocent until proven guilty!!! Sexual battery is not rape.. What did she say to him that made him react to her?? This man walks the street don’t bother anyone but himself.. Judge not less yw be judged!!!

  22. Phil on August 22nd, 2019 3:36 pm

    Hang him high!

  23. Freda on August 22nd, 2019 2:40 pm

    Praying for the victim.

  24. Mike J. on August 22nd, 2019 2:27 pm

Alan, who are you to defend this criminal rapist? A friend of this guy? Yes, there will be a trial and if he is found guilty, his punishment will be determined by the court and the law. We all know that. We also know that this “suspect” is most likely guilty (to be proven in court). Yet you want to defend him and say that the crime is not proven. Well, maybe you’ll be right. But If he is proven guilty then his punishment should be worse than castration. I won’t describe here what I think the punishment should be for convicted rapists.

  25. William Reynolds on August 22nd, 2019 2:06 pm

    >>Why is his arrest record not reflecting rape? It reflects sexual battery.

    Rape is sexual battery.

  26. Kevin Enfinger on August 22nd, 2019 2:01 pm

Bring back the days of public hanging. Or better yet, Have inmates with small crime charges be the firing squad. that will deter alot.

  31. David on August 22nd, 2019 9:35 am

@Alan….your right. Because Theodore Bundy was also a suspect….and Charles Manson

  32. Concerned Citizen on August 22nd, 2019 9:24 am

Alan, innocent men don’t run, especially in their underwear. Not to mention, seen this individual in Century many times and can tell you that he’s not mentally right in the head.

  33. A Alex on August 22nd, 2019 9:00 am

    Bullet too good for him
Castration will not stop his urges(in the brain)
MMC is right, jail for life

  34. sam on August 22nd, 2019 7:42 am

right in the middle of century in broad daylight. geeeez! he will be on the street in no time. i hope the girl is ok. these types are walking up and down the hwy all the time. get your conceal carry license and use it.

  35. S.P. on August 22nd, 2019 7:30 am

Poor girl. Prayers for her healing.

  36. Alan on August 22nd, 2019 7:09 am

You might want to prove him guilty and convict him in a court of law first before you castrate him (concerned citizen) or put a bullet between his eyes (Dola). However, even with a conviction, neither of your punishments will be prescribed as this is not LAW in Florida. While you wait, I would recommend looking up the definition of the word suspect.

  37. WORRIED RESIDENT on August 22nd, 2019 2:29 am

EVERYONE who has come in contact with this man knows he’s totally insane. That’s the CRAZY look in his eyes. I hate this child had to come in contact with him.

  38. Kimberly on August 21st, 2019 11:40 pm

I am so sorry for this young girl. and I will pray for her. I also pray this person had an encounter with Jesus after he hid in New Calvery Church of Zion.
The times spoken of in Revelations is not near, it is here!
God Bless the passerby for making that call…had he not been caught, we may have been reading of a rape/murder.

  39. Dola on August 21st, 2019 10:31 pm

Thank God for the passerby who made the call!! Unfortunately the acts of the sick and wicked individual can’t be undone. He deserves a bullet between the eyes, minimum!!

  40. Concerned Citizen on August 21st, 2019 8:52 pm

Castration is the only punishment that will suffice.

  41. MMC on August 21st, 2019 7:11 pm

Mr. Buffed-up appears high on something.

Guess we will find out later if this was a random female or someone he knew.

The police seem to have plenty of items taken for evidence.

This dude needs to stay behind bars for a long time.
