What did that mailbox do to deserve that.

Look for a vehicle with considerable front end damage.

They could not have driven very far.

Maybe it just disintegrated on its own.

I don’t think so Bernie, regardless of whose property it is located on. It looks like it was properly located also anyway. It couldn’t be located further back (see the ditch directly behind it), & can’t be located too close to the road. No lawsuit possible there. Are you trying to blame the mailbox owner victim?

Little note ,if brick mailbox is on State or County properity…The driver can git a laywer & Owner of box will have to pay for injuries..I think driver was drinking or something else So he/she ran from law-Dawgs….

I don’t really see where a vehicle even left the road on the grass, maybe just no in photos. If not could have been something hanging of a big truck or even a tractor with some sort of implement .

Solution? Plant a hefty chunk of “I Beam” about 3 feet down, & 4 feet above ground, about a foot or two forward of the mailbox. I doubt if the next hit & run person would have a vehicle left in the “run” condition. Years ago, when I lived in another state, I had my pile of garbage bags (before the days of roadside plastic bins) on the edge of my lawn, intentionally run over by I believe a bunch of teenagers who thought it was their idea of fun. A guy down the street, had his piled around a fire hydrant (probably not legal), & guess what happened when they tried running over his pile!

The culprit could have deer guard on the front of their vehicle, and not be showing much damage. Probably on a big truck too.

Hope the coward is arrested and put in jail. Whoever responsible is most likely not very intelligent.

“Placing bets on either Drunk and/or Texting. Not much difference on the general outcome.”

The only difference is that texters get a pass on the penalty. $166.
    Even when there’s a death..

Someone has to have a vehicle that is damaged badly. This same neighborhood about a month ago, our community’s mailbox was vandalized. The package parts are torn up. This is on the same rd., that this happened, but at the other end. We will be vigilant to catch this person or people that are responsible. This happened Saturday morning ,around 10:30.

Perhaps this was a deliberate act you reckon ?
