First and foremost, my deepest condolences to Jasson’s friends & family. I had the privilege of working with Jasson a few times. He was a good-spirited, smart, funny, kind-hearted, selfless man. He will definitely be deeply missed. I didnt see one comment that it could have been a medical issue. If for some reason he passed out, had a heart attack, seizure, etc….then yes, he would have hit the wall at a high rate of speed. There are many possibilities, please dont assume u know what happened

How amazing that there are so many experts, and that assumptions of speeding or texting arise. What if it was a medical condition, a stroke , a heart attack. Unable to control vehicle , never used the brakes !! Please stop speculating. Stop judging. Express your condolences, offer kindness or find something better to do . My sincerest and heartfelt sympathy to the Family and friends of this gentleman. A big thanks to all our amazing first responders and local Law enforcement.

@Danny Well, your shouldn’t be at “normal highway speed” when it rains, it’s baffling how many ppl don’t slow down when it pours here.
Sincere condolences to the family :-(

Prayers for the family!! RIP Brother we got it from here!

Before some of you spout off about what you think happened, remember this, at normal highway speeds, add rain and an impact with a stationary object can result in this type of heavy damage . 28 yrs of Emergency Services seen it too often.

    Agree with “john”.
Possibly an update would squelch all the rumors and assumings.
No matter the reason, a very sad time for family and friends.

Tracy, looks like a pretty sporty 4 door sedan. That’s a ton of damage that is only possible with a lot of kinetic energy. The wall isn’t moving so that just leaves the car.

Slow down people, especially when there is biblical rain coming down like what we had yesterday. This could have been any of us on any given day. We’ve all driven too fast down the interstate during bad weather conditions.

I feel for the family of this fellow. No matter what was at fault, it’s still tragic and hurts all the same.

My prayers are with the Smith family and all of his brothers. This family has been through so much lately. Bass in was a good man and fellow firefighter. He had a kind heart.

Maybe we can get an update to exactly how this happened, also, all newer cars have black boxes that measure last few minutes of vehicle speed, braking, etc. May God bless this family in their moment of loss.

Tee bug, first off, he was not driving a sports car. In fact is was a large 4 door sedan. Second, he had just left work and was on his way home. Jasson was a very careful driver so I do not think speed had anything to do with it. I knew this man. It was storming at that time yesterday. Prayers for his family and friends. He was a great guy and will be missed!

I want to thank everyone for their condolences. Jasson is my brother. I believe he drove a 2011-2013 BMW 4 door luxury sedan. Not a sports car Tee bug as you would assume.

@Jdub…you are absolutely spot on. Could of not typed out any more sincere and factual response to @Tee bug.. passed by this incident about 16:45 today and said my prayers and respect for all involved. Jumping to conclusions didn’t even cross my mind.

This is so sad for his family and friends. I am so sorry for your loss. May God be with you during this difficult time.

REALLY Tee Bug…SMH!! Your assumption of speed based on what you think the vehicle was is a little presumptuous! How about other possibilities such as it was wet from rain on that side of town today!?!? Or he was avoiding a situation and lost control…you know the old saying about making assuming!! I don’t know this man or his family…but I’m sure that reading your opinion is not going to help with what they are going through! So many are so quick to draw a conclusion based on ZERO evidence or knowledge. And what in the world does this have to do with “my little buddy want a sports car” have any relevance to this man and his family/friends as they grieve his loss. Perhaps next time keep those opinions to your own reflective thoughts and give your condolences instead!

For the family of this man…I am so sorry for your sudden and unexpected loss. My sincere condolences to your family.

  21. Tee bug on August 27th, 2019 9:10 pm

Looks like a sports car sure hope he wasn’t speeding and hate it that he lost his life and prayers for the family but unfortunately due to the picture definitely looks that speed was a factor my little buddy is wanting a sports car and I sure am concerned about his well being I sure hope he doesn’t speed and is extra careful
