Sadly his family will not be notified. This gentleman was homeless and was crossing the road after he left the bench he sleeps on since they business opens at 6am. He was wearing a black shirt and dirty jeans so was probably hard to see. I had dropped him and another homeless man something to eat the night before.

@ Bob Davis, it’s not hard to figure out , pedestrians in the roadway where they don’t belong very simple. It’s not as though vehicles are leaving roads and up on sidewalks. And crosswalks are hardly used, anyone who doesn’t believe this take the time at Fairfield and L st , with 5 minutes you’ll see. Even when a crosswalk is 15 feet away still not used . I hate someone was killed but if your in the roadway it just may happen especially if your looking at a phone.

I had a sign holder in a wheelchair roll out in front of me…..i hammered the brake pedal to the floor I had no other direction to go….when I got stopped he was four feet from my bumper….it was obvious he was three sheets to the wind….he muttered unintelligible words and slowly rolled himself back to his spot. He didn’t realize how close he may have come to eternity. Luckily for him I had a brand new vehicle very good brakes, and was paying attention and it was not distracted. Accidents happen, untimely deaths happen ,but the question is are you ready? Now is the day of salvation.

2 or 3 pedestrian are killed in West Pensacola every month. If you are walking on the west side you better look out. I would like to know how many people are run down every year out there. Man, what is going on?

I was told 15 years ago that was the busiest two lane road @22000 cars a day in West Fl. before Navy Fed,. I can’t imagine how many cars a day we have now. God be with this Family and the driver to live with it even though it was an accident.

That’s not a good intersection to cross even with NO construction going on.

This is tragic. And with all the construction at the intersection, it is very dangerous
