I have read the local University will give Pell Grants to deserving applicants. If they receive a free college education….how did that free high school education work out? I am afraid we will eventually have a large group of unemployed citizens with an education but no trade.
I am 29 . A young woman with 2 kids and no government assistance. I own a small cleaning business. There is more than enough work in our area. It’s finding good help that is the problem. I am a firm believer that if you want to succeed or have a job to just get you by . It’s is more than possible in this area ! People need to be more driven and follow up, follow thru and follow the ones who are making it !!
Recently I seen a post on facebook where someone was moving to Pace from Alabama. The person was looking for a job when they moved. They asked for suggestions and there were over 10-15 responses from people wanting to help. Jobs from bus drivers, dispatchers, secretaries at a local hospital, Milton bakery, you name it the jobs are here. When the unemployment rate hits 3-4 percent everyone who wants to work can find a job. Sure, the job might not pay 30 dollars per hour but you can work if you want. I worked three jobs after high school and worked my way through college. Anyone can do it if you have a good work ethic.
This certainly because of a job shortage. I saw a sign this week which read, Work today, get paid today. Is that business desperate or what?
I agree with JOHN 100%.
Workers coming back to the job search will increase unemployment… Workers dropping out of the job search lowers unemployment…. You have to add the statistic of how many workers are working in those time periods…
Well, Underhill wants condos, not jobs.
