Old Fannie Road Near Flomaton Closed Due To Collapse

June 2, 2019

A road just east of Flomaton was closed Sunday afternoon after a small portion collapsed due to a water leak.

Old Fannie Road between Welka Road and the railroad tracks is closed due to the hole and possible additional damage under the road surface.

The McCall Water System is working to make repairs to the leak. The Flomaton Fire Department, Flomaton Police Department, Escambia County (AL) Sheriff’s Office and Alabama State Troopers responded.

    REGARDING:
“I just wonder if this all could have started due to all the earthquakes that this area had in the past months ”

Semis (gravel and log trucks for instance) driving over it shake it up worse than any of the tremors, most of the quakes couldn’t even be detected without equipment.

David for a whole lot of shakin’ going on

Most likely due to the extreme heat we’ve had the last week.
