Newlyweds, Four Wedding Guests Charged With Burglary Of Munson School

June 4, 2019

A newlywed couple and four wedding guests were arrested after they broke into a former Munson school shortly after the wedding.

The marriage of Zachary Fuit, 26, of Roy, Utah, and Abigail Carlson, 21, of Pensacola, was held Sunday at Bear Lake in northern Santa Rosa County. They ended up in jail hours later, along with their wedding guests Zachary Barr, 21, of Kenosha, Wisconsin, Stephen Pepik, 24, of Pensacola, Colton Patterson, 20, of Burleson, Texas. and Victor Peres, 21, of Newark, New Jersey. All of them except Carlson are U.S. Marines, according to the Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies were dispatched to 11550 Munson Highway after receiving a complaint that several individuals pulled wood boards covering a broken window to access the school. The caretaker was inside the school when he heard a loud noise. he was able to write down the license plates of two vehicles outside the school. They later sped away.

A short time later, both vehicles were located and a traffic stop took place. One was pulled over by SRSO deputies and the other by a Milton Police 0fficer.

Deputies said they determined the six were involved in the burglary, and items founds in one of the vehicles placed them at the scene.

All six were charged with burglary and criminal mischief. Fuit was also charged with theft.

Hope the charges are dropped. The charge was more than enough punishment. You see this foolishness on you tube, going into abandoned buildings to explore. Any discharge other than an Honorable will follow them the rest of their lives. That is a life sentence. They have already paid a significant price. Pray they get some mercy and guidance at this point. In the 60s and 70s men were sent into the military as punishment. In the military being 15 minutes late for work is a crime. Miss a day of work without a doctors note telling you to miss is a crime. Give them a break!

If these individuals were not in the United States Marine Corps (except the female)this would not have been in the paper. They will be punished under current State laws and also under the Uniform Code of Military Justice system. I would not discharge them for this they made a very stupid mistake and they will pay for it. Hopefully they will learn from this.Semper Fi

Just another example of over zealous police and prosecutors piling on the hardest charges possible in the hope something sticks. Bottom line is these are still kids, and I’m fairly sure their actions were not intended to be as nefarious as the police are accusing.

For all the perfect stonethrowers here: What they did was dumb but isnt the old Munson School abandoned? I believe some of you would havesuggested the death penalty if you had thought about it. The marines should rough em up some then continue.

I am stunned at the response by some of you people. Margie Hays, there is not such thing as “Margie Hays’ Navy’s USMC tradition. Margie Hays wants them to be “processed out with the worst reinlistment code available on earth”. I guess she means dishonorable discharge. So she wants these young men to be classified below Traitors, Rapist, Murderers and deserters. Ellis, when you leave bootcamp , you are a Marine. Also, Office hours does not lead to a discharge of any kind. ” Remember this” wants you to think of these young men on Veterans and Memorial days.

Jt, what “core” are you talking about. These men are in the United States Marine Corps.

When You All Insist on “Honoring our Soldiers,” remember:

    All soldiers are not noble.

All leaders are not worthy of their post..

All your neighbors are not who you think they are.

    Word to the wise.

  8. Jt on June 4th, 2019 6:48 pm

I think this is a blessing! Now the Core knows where to place them…Recon!

Marines set the example, no excuse for this, period!

How many of us have went exploring in old buildings, or storm sewers etc…? These guys volunteered to serve our country, possibly face death in combat. Give them a break. A word to the young Marines. Being Marines, I know you know how to endure hardships. Take your medicine and continue on with your lives. This to will pass.

Hey newlyweds doubt if a conjugal visit is forthcoming, and to the so called new Marines office hours are in your future with possibly bad conduct discharges. This is a school command here you haven’t even begun to know what it is to be called Marine

what those dummies will receive upon returning to the military will be far and above what they get from civilian punishment. i cut grass with scissors, on my hands and knees for a month in front of the company headquarters and spent 2 weeks in the brig for getting sun burned and not fit for duty for 2days. they are in big trouble.

They probably assumed the place was abandoned and nobody would care. If you look on YouTube you’ll find hundreds of videos of people exploring abandoned buildings. A lot of people enjoy doing it, and I will admit I enjoy it myself, but being Marines they should have known not to take the risk.

What a way to spend your honeymoon! Idiots!

  22. Margie Hays on June 4th, 2019 5:56 am

Thank God. Thank God if they’re this dishonest, this shallow of character and this disloyal to their oath of enlistment now, they’ve proven it now before they developed an ability to masquerade in my Navy’s USMC tradition. Each of them may develop remorse and regret (and hopefully understand the difference between the two), but they ought to be processed out with the worst reinlistment code available on earth. Prayers thy they learn from their stupidity and selfishness. Shame on them. Prayers then for forgiveness and for strength for them to deal with the consequences of their choices.

In this instance, Marshall, it is acceptable to use ex-marine.

Six promising careers down the toilet for scrap.

  28. How nice on June 4th, 2019 12:56 am

What an outstanding way to begin your military career! I would guess that these fools are having some really interesting briefings hopefully while spending some quality time in the brig. Way to make everyone proud!!

  29. Marshall on June 4th, 2019 12:55 am

Maybe the article will be changed to they are former Marines. Doubt the Corp will take kindly to their actions.
