Mechanic Testing Pickup Truck Flips It Into Cantonment Creek
June 29, 2019
A mechanic looking to test out a pickup truck flipped it into a Cantonment creek Saturday afternoon.
The Florida Highway Patrol said mechanic Craig Kittrell of Cantonment, 61, was driving the 1999 Chevrolet 1500 east on West Roberts Road near Stallion Road where he “allegedly accelerated to test the suspension and transmission. The action of the driver caused the rear tires of the vehicle to lose traction. The vehicle left the roadway, overturning into a creek.”
Kittrell and passenger Suzane Adams, age 38 of Cantonment, were both transported to Sacred Heart Hospital in serious condition by Escambia County EMS.
Any charges in the crash are pending, according to FHP.

Hello out there. West Roberts Road is not a safe road to test drive any vehicle.
It could have been worse and went into some houses located along that stretch or crashed into another vehicle. West Roberts Road is too busy for that.
Next time test drive your cars on roads less traveled like Quintette Road.
To both of you: May you make a quick recovery.
Prayers for the family and also prayers for the fool with the smart remark as if it’s funny when someone gets hurt he or she won’t be laughing if it’s one of their loved ones or them themselves !!! So I send prayers for that selfish person that gets his or her kicks off other people’s pain and heart ache as well !!!!!!!
Maybe he was testing it to see how it handled a rollover?
Chris fancies him/herself a comedian/comedienne.
God bless u sorry for what happen will pray for u
Thats crazy what was he thinking! Cant drive i know that. I will pray for the both of ya. God bless
If he was driving a Ford it wouldn’t have the power to spin the wheels
Maybe the title should read —- “Mechanic Abusing Customer Pickup Truck Flips It Into Cantonment Creek.”
If the mechanic was test driving a ford the advance track would have prevented this accident. I highly recommend a ford with advance track
If you really look @ many of our roadways, there are LOTs of precarious drop-offs, ravines, & just plain DEEP ditches “unadorned” by guardrails~~~ loss of traction PLUS the downward tug of gravity…
elementary physics, my good people~!
So how does he sign the performance check off on this one? Good story………..everyone has a race truck when it rains!! lol
WOW, hope the two in the truck will be okay. Shaken up for sure.
Have had pickup trucks of several makes for decades and one thing you must remember is on a wet road the rear end will quickly lose traction and try to pass the front tires. Happens super fast and if you cannot get back in control bad thins can happen.
Fire fighters, First Responders you had a tough go thru that underbrush.
Be Careful on these roads, it’s been hot and dry and the oil and rubber have been laid down waiting to make a skating rink when it rains.
I’m praying for you Craig and Suzanne also. You’ve been thru this before. I hope your gonna be able to walk away from this. Prayers for you too Mary, Joe and Lindsay. Hang in there, God Bless
All that power under one hood!!
Enough for two hoods!!
I wonder if he does body work also?
