Groundbreaking Held For New Hotel On Nine Mile Road In Beulah

June 6, 2019

A groundbreaking was held Wednesday for a new hotel on Nine Mile Road at I-10.

The 124 room, six-story Courtyard by Marriott-Pensacola West will be the first hotel in Florida as traffic comes into the state along I-10. It is a short distance from the Navy Federal Credit Union campus and is expected to open in the fall of 2020.

The hotel is under development by Southern Ventures of Fort Walton Beach.

    As if almost every hotel on i10 has empty rooms every night….

    DARN, how about this? A nice place to pull in and rest up while you let the traffic move on out of the way. A Genius Idea if ever there was one for locals stuck in the gridlock. Maybe they have a place for snacks and cold beverages to make the wait easier.
    Thinking positive today for Beulah.

    Although they’re making good progress on 9 mile roadwork since there were different contracts for the two main sections, Pine Forest from I-10 heading north to 9 Mile is still horrible. A large piece of land along that section of Pine Forest is now up for sale. Let’s not forget that Hwy 29 is still an obstacle course also. This is only going to continue to be a mess until ALL of the roadwork is done. I understand progress but I wish we could get the roadwork completed before adding to the problem of more people using the roads in this general area.

    Build on.
    Now some restaurants. Walmart. Target
    2 or 3 more red lights. We progressing now…

    I’m glad I moved out of Beulah 15 years ago. I would hate it out there now. The commute must be brutal.

    @Maybe

    You answered your own question. Where there’s people and traffic, there’s money!

    Yes, I agree traffic on 9 mile is horrible at the moment. My concern is will there be a light at Pine Cone once road is completed? If hotel is open in fall of 2020, the traffic in and out along with the apartment complex will be unbelievable. I would not want to rent or stay in hotel in that area because of the impossible access.

    Why do they keep adding on in that area?!?!? The traffic is horrible, and the construction is never ending! Leave Beulah alone for God’s sake!!
