God bless

God bless these dedicated volunteers. To work against fire in this heat and the clothing they wear takes a very special person.
Dang. Sorry about the loss of material/equipment. I’ve seen almost spontaneous combustion within hay balers before, either from sparks or just the intense heat generated by packing semi-dry grass through a piece of high-friction equipment already nearly superheated from atmospheric conditions.
My Dad died in 2002 when his “underbrush burnoff pile” got away from him in the wind~ he passed from a massive coronary trying to get enough water hose on the tractor to fight it himself. We got back from the hospital/morgue hours after he was pronounced DOA, & a couple of the big round bales he & his bird-hunting buddies had used as blinds were still burning.
Sure do miss that old man.
CALL 911 & Fire/Rescue when a “controlled burn” gets out of hand~!!!
