June 6, 2019
Gov. Ron DeSantis has appointed a Pensacola attorney to replace an Escambia County judge that recently resigned.
DeSantis appointed Charles Young to the Escambia County Court.
Young, 58, of Pensacola, has been an attorney at Clark Partington & Hart since 2018. He formerly served as a civics teacher before attending law school. He received his bachelor’s degree from Florida Atlantic University and his law degree from Florida State University. Young fills the vacancy created by the resignation of Judge Joyce Williams.

Congratulations! They could not have picked a better man. He is kind, honest and smart. He will do an excellent job.
Could NOT have appointed a better qualified candidate for this position. Experience in one line of law is not the only qualification for a good judge. I worked for Mr. Young for several years at a different law firm. He is compassionate, fair, hard working, very intelligent, gentile, maintains control, is a great time manager, eloquent in speech and written expression. He respects humanity and understands the fragility of mankind. Best wishes to Mr. Young.
One of the best teachers I’ve ever had!
Great, another judge without any criminal case experience. According to the Clark Partington website, it says he has been the head attorney in 70 criminal cases as a State attorney. That would be a good 2 days work! This guy would be a good Circuit Court judge., not a County Court judge ,who’s main duties are criminal cases! Far more qualified candidates were presented to the Governor to choose from.
Looks like a very good upgrade here. A teacher, lawyer,Judge.
common sense with a great background . Thanks Governor DeSantis !
