Crash On Blue Angel Parkway Claims One Life
June 10, 2019
A two vehicle crash Monday morning on Blue Angel Parkway claimed the life of an Escambia County woman.
The Florida High Patrol said a southbound Ford Ranger driven by 20-year old Casey Robbirds of Pensacola crossed the centerline into the path of a Hyundai Santa Fe driven by 49-year old Donna Creel.
Creel passed away as the result of the crash. Her passenger, 21-year old Jana Creel, was transported to Sacred Heart Hospital in critical condition. Robbirds was also transported to Sacred Heart in critical condition.
The FHP said any charges against Robbirds is pending the outcome of their continuing investigation.

I’ve been best friends with Casey for 6 years ! He is the sweetest most kind hearted kid I have ever met. As far as I know and what has been told to me Casey’s truck drifted into the other lane, no I have not been told how or why.. or even how Casey is. But I have also been told that he tried to pass a car in a no passing zone which does put him in the wrong.. but none of you know what even happened so stop bashing the kid for a serious accident! He’s not even out of the hospital yet! But my prayers do go to everybody. As far as everybody knows this was a freak accident and the kid doesn’t need to have people making comments about how it makes them sick or how he’s a bad person because he’s not! And for the people saying my best friend should have to do time behind bars? For what??? IT WAS LEGIT AN ACCIDENT! I’m sorry that Casey killed this lady in AN ACCIDENT!!! but I and any other one of his friends will defend him any time and any day, i promise!
I live off Bankhead rd a few blocks from where this happened..I see a ton of speeders that treat this curve as a chance to be a Nascar driver. I see a lot of people on cellphones. This is NOT the place to NOT be paying attention. The shoulders should be expanded on the South bound lane. Police should set up radar more often to slow down the flow through that curve and put people on notice. What happened was tragic. I suspect however it was either speeding, cellphone, radio or a combination.
Richard Brooks.. how do you know it was an accident? most accidents are preventable…especially if drivers would put their cell phones out of reach.. stop messing with the radio dial and just pay attention…an animal running out in front of a car is an accident….
Have you ever considered maybe it was medicinal: maybe he passed out, had a stroke, ect. Just because he was 20 doesn’t mean he was irresponsible. He is a friend of my 20 yr old and he’s a good kid. Would never do anything to harm anyone intentionally. But he too, is in the hospital fighting for his life. But shame on you for being quick to judge saying he should be behind bars. God don’t like ugly, just hope karma doesn’t treat you how you have treated him. Shame on you. I’m sure God is appalled as well. If he does live have you ever considered the fact he will live everyday with the fact he killed this poor woman. I bet you didn’t.
So very very sad about this. Donna will be missed greatly. She was a wonderful woman who loved her family, friends and clients. Rest in peace Donna. My prayers go out to the family
This is corner is deadly .. something needs to be done with is I have lost someone on this corner it’s very dangerous … sorry for ur loss
Coach Creel,
I am so sorry for your loss and praying that your daughter makes a full recovery. Praying for you and your family.
A terrible situation for sure, but what’s not being addressed is the reason he crossed the center line. There aren’t too many things it could be, and besides a mechanical failure of some sort, none of them are good for the young man’s future. He should expect to do some considerable time behind bars, and rightfully so. Looking at his phone? Speed? or some other driver error should result in serious charges.
I will miss you Donna! Prayers for the family! God Bless!
Jeff my prayers and thoughts are with you and your family. My heart is breaking for your loss. I pray that your daughter will pull through this.
