Cantonment Man Charged In Armed Disturbance

June 12, 2019

A Cantonment man has been charged in connection with an armed disturbance in a local neighborhood.

Jarrian Jamal Purifoy, 32, was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

On May 22, the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office responded to the intersection of Booker Avenue and Robinson Street in Cantonment where witness reporting hearing several shots fired. The witness told deputies that Purifoy pointed a gun at him and told him to get back before running into the woods.

Another witness told deputies he heard several shots before he saw a man later identified as Purifoy run through his yard with a pistol, according to an arrest report.  Purifoy allegedly pointed the gun at a table where two men were playing dominoes.

One of the witnesses positively identified Purifoy from a photo lineup, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

Purifoy was arrested this week and remained in the Escambia County Jail Wednesday morning with bond set at $100,000.

Better to be Judged by 12 then carried 6. I know his situation. The man made multiple reports with law enforcement about ppl threatening his life. Yet nothing was done and if the ppl who threaten you start shooting what do you do?

Bewildered yes a man named Purifoys was killed and that may have caused this Purifoys to walk around with a gun so stupidly. That’s what I would be looking into, if I was . Family street justice fighting going on. It takes a stronger person to walk away from a fight but some folks don’t know that
Praying for Peace on our streets

Molino Girl….there are no defenders. I leave that to “ya’ll” to be defenders of your own kind. Right is right and wrong is wrong. This man did something stupid and he should be locked up for pulling a gun out on someone/anyone. The problem in today’s society is people like YOU. My problem is that the same treatment should go for all whether they are black, white, purple, green or blue but we all know that doesn’t happen don’t we? Have you watched “When they see us” on Netflix. If not, go and watch it then come back and talk to me about a “previous” jail record. Who knows if there are several “Linda’s” out there in today’s society too. But I’m sure you’ll come back being a defender of the prosecuting attorney lol.

    Have a good day !!

” we shall wait for all his defenders to say what a good boy he is.” Absolutely. And remember, his family might be reading the comments. Maybe his family needs to read the police report, or reports, too.

What is it with people and wanting pull a gun someone? A good friend of mine’s Dad told me years ago never pull a gun unless your life is in danger, and then be prepared to use it. He also said never pull a gun to scare people or as a warning. It be the last and final option.

Just a few days ago another man by the name of Purifoy got killed in that area. What does it take for some people to come to their senses?

Looking at Mr. Purifoy’s record shows that this isn’t his first time acting stupid and violent. Obviously he doesn’t know how to behave in society, so it’s time time to go away. Now…. we shall wait for all his defenders to say what a good boy he is in 3…2…1…
