Several Inches Of Rain Expected Into The Weekend

We many finally get relief from the heat and the dry weather.

A significant rain event is setting up for the weekend with several inches of rain possible. The usual storm issues like high winds, hail and tornadoes are not expected.

Rain chances are on the rise the next few days, which will keep our daytime high temperatures a little cooler (think 80s instead of 90s-100s). Scattered rain showers and storms on forecast for Wednesday, with periods of heavy rain possible late in the week through the weekend. In total, we’re looking at a widespread 4-6 inches of rain north of I-10 through early this weekend, with 6-8 inches closer to the coast . Some areas likely to see higher rain totals.

Tonight: A chance of showers and thunderstorms, then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm after 1am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 72. South wind around 5 mph becoming calm. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.

Thursday: Showers and thunderstorms. High near 81. Calm wind becoming southeast around 5 mph in the morning. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New rainfall amounts between three quarters and one inch possible.
