One problem with a pool is the vertical sides. Even a cat or dog usually can’t get out of a pool by itself. I’d rather go to the river or beach where you can gradually get in and out. With that said, we had a pool growing up and swam in it all the time. Just have to keep infants and pets out.

@Anne, you are correct! The key word in “I’m watching the kids!” is “watching”. Too many times I see members of my own family let children go play in the back yard while they sit on the couch looking at their phone. When I ask them “So what’s your excuse going to be when one of the kids gets seriously injured doing something stupid, that you could have prevented had you been watching them”? Unfortunately, they don’t get it.

I pray this baby will recover! I recently told my niece we had to be outside if her grand lids were. outside and she said no, they know better than to go near the lake. Well, next thing I knew they were marching toward the lake. These kids forget what we tell them in ten seconds, I swear
