No Arrests One Week After Atmore Shooting That Claimed One Life, Injured Eight

May 26, 2019

It’s been a week since a shooting incident that claimed one life and injured eight others at a graduation party in Atmore, and so far there’s no word of any suspects or arrests.

Chirshawn Jermaine Westry, 19, was pronounced deceased at the scene of the shooting, according to Atmore Police Chief Chuck Brooks. Eight other people were injured.

Brooks said Atmore Police officers could hear gunfire around the property when they arrived at a party attended by hundreds of people at a community center in the former Escambia County Middle School on Martin Luther King Drive about 2 a.m. May 18. Westry was found deceased in the cafeteria of the building, where the party was being held.

Witnesses told police that a fight broke out between two females. As partygoers attempted to separate the females, numerous gunshots were fired, hitting several individuals, the police chief stated. Additional gunshots were fired, striking more victims, in the parking lot.

Anyone with information on the incident is asked to call the Atmore Police Department at (251) 368-9141.

Apparently dealing with themselves is going to be the course.
No way to just let this go, someone needs to talk to save others.

This happened two years ago, where the suspects in one murder were not arrested during the summer. The main suspect then committed another double murder a month later. A retaliation murder was later committed in the dark, leading to mistaken identity and another senseless kiling.

The police need to bring an airtight case against these perpertrators so that they don’t walk, and they need our help, I’m guessing everyone will plead self defense.

So the murderer remains at large because those that know who did are still harboring the criminal…there are people waiting for someone to do the right thing.

Sad for the loved ones and true real friends of young Mr. Westry.
Terrible that this far from the murder there has been no proper.
Cowardly that nobody has come forward to provide LEO with a name and solid lead toward apprehending those involved in this Murder.

Guess the good old code still works, “Nobody saw anything, Nobody heard anything, Nobody knows anything” protecting the Killer in some states makes others as complicit as the one who pulled the trigger.

    Family needs closure.
