FHP: Escambia Deputy Injured When Driver Runs Red Light, Crashes Into Patrol Vehicle

May 27, 2019

An Escambia County deputy received minor injuries Sunday morning when a driver crashed into his patrol cruiser before fleeing the scene.

The Florida Highway Patrol said Juan Jose Hernandez Fajardo, 50, was traveling south in the outside lane of Pine Forest Road approaching Wilde Lake Boulevard about 6:32 a.m. when he ran a stop light. Fajardo crashed his Toyota Tundra into the passenger side of the deputy’s Chevrolet Tahoe.

Fajardo then fled on foot, according to troopers. He was later located and booked into the Escambia County Jail on charges of leaving the scene of a crash with injuries, no driver’s license and failing to stop at a steady red signal.

The deputy was treated for minor injuries and released from Baptist Hospital.

Fajardo remained in the Escambia County Jail Monday morning due to  a hold from Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

tim, you said that in an excellent way! America is a generous country but these people take advantage of even that!

I agree with OldMan. If you get the first 6 every morning the rest will stop trying after a few days. Try and get into Canada with a criminal record, even a DUI! You WONT! It’s time we stood up to our do-nothing lawmakers and demand action for our own Citizens first!

Talking about dems, you watch as much of us that post about it some way some how our 2020 president will be a democrat and then no more cows, plains, trains and automobiles. New green deal. More Obama care, no guns to protect yourself from the thugs that will get there guns regardless, open gate for illegals to flood our country as if they haven’t already!

I agree with Build The Wall. There shouldn’t even be a debate about that in Congress, but you know how that goes.

These illegals are flooding America. Dems do nothing but resist.

How many times is this story repeated every day in our country? Illegals driving with no license and probably no insurance and ignoring our Law Enforcement, and laws. I wonder if he fled so he had the opportunity to get rid of whatever contraband he was carrying. No telling what other criminal activities he is involved in. BUILD THE WALL!!!!!!

I say line the border with soldiers, give them plenty of ammo and tell them to protect our borders. After you drop 10 or 20
the rest will stop coming. No different than some countries.

Send this story to those sorry democrats and multiply it by thousands of other examples from around the country – this is just one case of the big problem. This country is surrounded by enemies from without and within on every level.

America’s generosity is being abused daily by those that think they are entitled to something . Do not ever tarnish the memory of those that bled and died for America. Those that hate and abuse America on any level need to leave. We neither want or need your sorry butts.

He’ll probably be given a court date and sent on his way. That’s what usually happens, and of course they are never seen again.

From what I hear ICE doesn’t even have enough places to detain all of these people.

Hope the Deputy is doing OK. Hope they send Fjgardo home or teach him to follow rules if he intends to stay.

A hold from Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
This is just one example of why our borders need to be protected.

No drivers license, how about a green card?

  18. Jim on May 27th, 2019 8:41 am

Is there any reason to have a “meeting” with ICE other than a status as an illegal alien?

  19. fisherman on May 27th, 2019 8:05 am

Thank you Sheriff Morgan for honoring the Immigration and Customs Enforcement hold. If Escambia County were a sanctuary city this individual would be out of jail. Send him back to where he came from.

  20. tg on May 27th, 2019 7:56 am

    Could he be illegal?

  21. fishhook240 on May 27th, 2019 7:40 am

Got one, Let Trumps ICE have him. He is not suppose to be here. No model citizen here, hits a cop and then runs not caring if anybody is hurt. This one need to go back.

    Bet he was an illegal!
