Atmore Man Arrested After Wild Police Chase; Woman Hit By His Truck

May 17, 2019

A wild police chase in which a woman was run over landed an Atmore man in jail.

The chase started about 1:00 a.m. Thursday after a Robertsdale traffic stop. Police say Dalton Ryan Walker, age 21 of Madison Lane in Atmore, fled at speeds over 100 mph. In Daphne, a female passenger jumped or otherwise exited from Walker’s truck and was run over. Police called off the chase at the point to render aid to the injured woman, who was airlifted to an area hospital.

Loxley Police picked up the chase, catching up with Walker in Rosinton. Loxley Police said he attempted to run over an officer before being taken into custody.

Walker is a facing multiple charges, including first degree felony attempted aggravated assault, attempting to elude, criminal mischief, reckless driving, driving with revoked license, reckless endangerment and running a stop sign. He was also wanted on outstanding felony warrants out of Escambia County, Al, and that’s why police believe he fled the original traffic stop.

Walker remained in in the Baldwin County Jail Friday morning where he was being held without bond.

Dalton is a good boy i know him very well. He made a mistake now he is taking the consequences for it. But you don’t know what he has been through in life and what was on his mind and just anything. So it’s not fair to him for all this negativity and hate towards him. HE MADE A MISTAKE..woww like you all haven’t!!!!!!!

    REGARDING:
“each one of us are all capable of making mistakes and poor choices. Keep that in mind when you’re passing judgement”

    Is.

And yes, we are. Whether we do or don’t, though, is not just a random thing. It is a conscious choice each time to do good or bad. We make those choices based on who and what we are.

Those who do good are good. Those who do bad are bad. We can even decide to switch directions — repent of good or evil.

It’s better to do things which you won’t have to run from, hide, defend, deny. Maybe he’ll get back to that but not with folks justifying it or acting like it was just the luck of the draw.

    David for better people

So he needs rehab he comes from a good family, man some of you are so out of touch with reality. If he would of killed someone would you have been saying send him to rehab, if this would of been someone you didn’t know would you have been say send him to rehab more than likely not. One thing you can’t do is send a junkie yes a junkie to rehab unless they want it he has to be wanting to get clean himself but he committed a crime and guess what they will offer him drug rehab but it will be on him to maintain himself not no one else or his family

From a LOT of experience I can tell you that a person is not labeled good or bad because of what kind of family they come from. We can raise them up perfectly but once mama bird pushes them out of the nest, they make their decisions on their own. And sadly to say but fairly, we all live from decision to decision. The kind of person he really is will tell in time. If this was just a mistake then he will make better decisions next time. If he chooses this kind of life then he will be labeled as a bad person. I agree good parenting helps (most of the time), but we are all responsible for the decisions we make. This does not mean his family are bad.

Just remember folks, each one of us are all capable of making mistakes and poor choices. Keep that in mind when you’re passing judgement.

“I know this young man and he comes from two great families and he is a good person”

Good people do not run folks over, use illicit/illegal drugs, and flee law enforcement doing their duty when it’s righteous. He may have been good previously, but he chose to do some very stupid things. He can rebuild his life, and there is hope. Please don’t make excuses, however. Other people are reading these comments and it contributes, in a small way, to the decay this eating away at our society.

    @Atmore

He may come from a great family and he may have been a good person at one time, but he’s not a good person now. Good people don’t have outstanding felony warrants, run from the police, run over passengers who try to exit the vehicle he was fleeing in, nor do good people attempt to run over the police. The police officer he was attempting to run over would have been justified to shoot him. He needs to remember that and make better life choices.

He does come from a good family, he went to school with my son.
but that don’t matter what matters is he did something wrong and he should pay the consequences. He needs God in his life and then he might be something. If you don’t have God you don’t have anything. He
    needs God as his rehab

It baffles me when someone is so quick to defend a criminal. Especially one on drugs. He knows right from wrong. He may have come from a good family but his family has nothing to do with his actions! He made the choice to use drugs. He made the choice to break the law! Rehab only helps the ones who to change. Jail only helps the ones who want to change. He needs to be held accountable for his actions regardless if he is on drugs or noy!

Poor fellow looks like he really regrets what he has done in his photo people shouldn’t condemn anyone till they know all the facts involving his situation you never know what a person is going through at the time

To Atmore, another one of “but he comes from a good family and needs rehab, he’s a really good guy…” blah blah blah

He is old enough to know the consequences. He holds the pipe to his mouth or puts the needle in his own arm. People have to grown up and accept responsibility for their actions. He ran from the cops, ran over his passenger and tried to run over a cop. Sounds like the rehab he needs is PRISON and prison has rehab programs. “Freckles” is a dnager to society, this wasn’t a theft of sweet tea.

He is now a burden on the criminal justice system and the law abiding taxpayers. Whether you are family or friends it was HIS selfish choices to become a criminal with no regard for any of you. This is a public forum, and there are going to be comments condemning his criminal acts. If he has tarnished the family name don’t blame it on society that is going to have to foot the bill of housing and feeding this criminal.

@ Atmore. Well said. Prayers for all involved and thanks to our law enforcement and first responders who put their lives on the line each day for the good and safety of our communities . Thank you and keep up the hard work!

@ WILLIWONKA I know this young man and he comes from two great families and he is a good person. Just some kids get started out on the wrong foot in life and I don’t think prison is where he needs to be. He needs REHAB like others I know around here. But most of you out there are so quick to point fingers at others but when you look at that one finger you are pointing at him with or any other parent’s child just know three are pointing back at you and may some day be your child, brother, sister ,mom, dad or friend … “JMO” Have a good day

Sure is racking ‘em up for someone so young. A shame and a waste of life.

Walker should receive the maximum prison sentence if convicted. He has no respect for the law.
