Trooper Finds Two Injured Women Near Highway 95A Intersection, Vehicle Deep In A Wooded Area

May 2, 2019

A Florida Highway Patrol trooper patrolling near the intersection of Highway 95A and Quintette Road observed a female in the roadway and another female near the wood line at the intersection about 9 p.m. Wednesday.

The trooper determined that a 2006 Chevrolet HHR failed to stop at a posted stop sign, causing the vehicle to travel about 200 yards into a dense wooded area. There were no witnesses to the crash, and there was no physical evidence placing either woman behind the wheel, according to the FHP.

The two women were identified as 28-year old Christina Holman of Pensacola and 35-year old Lindsey Flores of Corpus Christi, TX. Both were transported to Sacred Heart Hospital in serious condition.

The crash remains under investigation by the Florida Highway Patrol. The Cantonment and Molino stations of Escambia Fire Rescue and Escambia County EMS also responded.

I was a victim in this accident Its a year now later doing good walking fine and recovered in full, on ther than occasionally having lower back pains. Injuries extensive! 4 Broken ribs, 2 fractured vertebrates, fractured Knee cap, crushed orbital socket and concousion have short-term, memory problems, but nothing else ! Thank you god! Btw. We are TOTALLY AGAINST drunk driving!

Glad the women involved are recovering. When one is driving in an unknown area, and at dark, anyone can be subject to issues.

There are major changes in the works for this interchange of roads, hopefully to make it safer for all of us, whether locals or passers-thru’s.

Be kind: it is traumatic to have this kind of thing happen to you, regardless of fault.

Hope the women continue to heal!

    >>>The report is wrong. It’s not 200 yards. Whoever this reporter is needs to re-evaluate their measurement skills.it was maybe 20- 30 yards.

The 200 yards is stated in the FHP report.

And to everyone who travels that road often… that’s why you dont miss it. You expect it. They were lost phones were not involved, it was dark. Get over yourselves ole superstar drivers in cantonment. Why dont you go read the accident reports from over the last few years. At least a dozen in the last 2 in the same spot? On another note neither person was impaired. They were on the way to get me from work in a place neither of them had ever been. Again. Thank you for the love to my wife and her sister

The report is wrong. It’s not 200 yards. Whoever this reporter is needs to re-evaluate their measurement skills.it was maybe 20- 30 yards. They were doing the speed limit. This is my wife and sister in law. Thank you everyone for your thoughts.
Btw they are both out of critical condition and will eventually be ok.

Please everyone pray for these ladies. One is my daughter in law. She has a husband and a 5 year old baby girl. Please storm heaven with prayers for them. Thank you!!

You MUST be Blind to miss that stop sign because it can be seen from the Railroad tracks. Put the PHONE down and pay attention is what really needs to happen.

  10. Really? on May 2nd, 2019 9:31 pm

@ Just Sayin – AMEN!! I travel this road several times a week. I have Never had a problem with that intersection! Driver must have been sick or impaired or just not paying attention.

No, we do not need a red light on Quintette and 95A. A red light is not going to stop all the people driving large pick up trucks to slow down, because every time I drive down 95A, it is always a large F150 speeding by me. People need to be taught how to drive and obey the stop sign rules.

  12. Joniqua Wilkinson on May 2nd, 2019 8:44 pm

I don’t think a red light is needed. I agree that people just need to pay attention. I have no problem seeing that stop sign, whether it’s a normal night or if it’s foggy and/or raining. 95A is more difficult to see during a storm than that stop sign is.

    Bama,
I was wondering the same thing.
That’s is the length of two football fields.

  14. Bob C. on May 2nd, 2019 7:58 pm

Trooper says vehicle traveled about 200 YARDS into a dense wooded area?
    200 YARDS, that’s 2 football fields or 600 feet.
WOW will be interesting to see any followup on how fast they were going.
Hope they recover fully so their side of story can be told.

Why is it that every time there is a wreck someone starts hollering we need a new red light ? We need a new red light like we need a new Walgreens and Dollar General. What needs to happen is people need put down the phone, slow down, and pay attention. Thats what this world needs. Not a new red light.

  16. Bama on May 2nd, 2019 11:43 am

How do you go 200 yards through dense woods without stopping. I wonder how fast they were going

  17. Charlotte Bates on May 2nd, 2019 10:13 am

Don’t want to ruffle anyone’s feathers, but I can see that stop sign right after I go over the R.R. tracks. Maybe put a blinking red light attached to the stop sign would help see it. I for one, have no problem seeing it. I do agree that intersection needs something, and a traffic light sounds like a good idea as well, as sometimes, it’s really hard to get onto 95-A from Quintette., especially if you are turning left. Praying for the girls for a full recovery.

This is a bad place and especially for strangers who are travelling hope they recover if indeed they are the occupants of this vehicle I wonder if someone could have dragged them out and then left cause they didn’t want to be involved… Just saying… Be safe out there my fellow human beings !

  19. Deborah Dukes on May 2nd, 2019 5:11 am

We really need a traffic light there, instead of a stop sign, there been so many accident there you because of that stop and you really don’t see it until you are right on top of it, and when it raining heavy or thick fog you don’t even see the sign, there have so many accident over the years where cars gone straight across the road in that wooded area because they didn’t see the stop sign, to safe a life, we need a traffic light in that area
