Man Allegedly Threatened To Blow Up Courthouse, Kill Everyone Inside
April 9, 2019
An Escambia County man has been charged with allegedly threatening to bomb the county courthouse and kill everyone inside.
Joshua Michael Hanson, 38, was charged with a felony, and later released from the Escambia County Jail on a $10,000 bond.
Hanson told an assistant state attorney “I’m going to kill everyone and I am going to bomb this place” while in the foyer of a courtroom, according to arrest report.
As Hanson was escorted from the courtroom foyer, he began hyperventilating and crying hysterically. He waived treatment by Escambia County EMS.
According to court records, Hanson was in court for a plea hearing on a charge of violating a stalking injunction.

He certainly does have a flair for the dramatic.
What was that actors name? John Wilkes Booth.
Yea…it really doesn’t make much sense…there is a tendency for violence there or he wouldn’t have a stalking order against him….mental evaluation is in order quickly…
What Rusty and Mike said! Amen!
Some kids never grow up.
Rusty I bet you could have subdued him with some pocket sand.
I agree with your comment.
I “like” Rusty’s comment. How can a judge, who works at the courthouse, release a man who threatened to bomb the courthouse? If they think he’s crazy so this threat is a crazy “heat-of-the-moment” threat, then they might find out the hard way. Stalking and continuing to do so after a court order is leading towards violence.
If arrested there should be no bond for a crime like this. Where is the sense in realeasing a person back into society that says they want to kill people? If he was announcing these thoughts he should have been Baker acted and held at Lakeview where he can get treatment.
