John David Teelin

April 6, 2019

John David Teelin went on to Glory on Saturday, March 30, 2019. He was born in Syracuse, NY, but lived most of his 71 years in the Pensacola, Florida area.

Mr. Teelin both entertained and informed the people in the Florida Panhandle and in Alabama for over 50 years on several radio stations, and sometimes on TV. He also shared his knowledge of and passion for communication and broadcasting with people, as he taught classes and helped folks with on the job training.

Being a man of God, Mr. Teelin served several churches in the area over the years. He was a very loving man of great integrity who never met a stranger and, if he did, would go as far as giving them the shirt off his back if it meant that he could help them. Mr. Teelin’s influence is evident in that many who knew him have learned to be the same kind of friend and the same kind of Christian. They hope to carry on his legacy for generations to come, and they are so grateful to have had him in their lives.

Mr. Teelin is preceded in death by his parents, Paul Teelin and Dorothy Teelin; and his former wife, Lou Teelin (Murzin).

He is survived by three loving children, Dasha, Daniel John “DJ”, and Colby, and by two young grandchildren, Olivia and Luca.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, April 13, 2019, at 10:30 a.m. at Olive Baptist Church. Pastor Ted Traylor will be officiating.

The family will receive friends after the service.

Inurnment with Military Honors will be held at a later time.

Faith Chapel Funeral Home South has been entrusted with arrangements.
