April 24, 2019
A Fountain correction officer has been arrested following a joint law enforcement investigation.
Wiggins Washington, a correctional officer assigned to Fountain Correctional Facility in Atmore, was arrested at a business and charged with conspiracy to traffic methamphetamines, according to the Alabama Department of Corrections. Washington, 50, also faces additional federal charges for being in possession of a firearm at the time of his arrest.
Washington was taken into custody in Bay Minette by agents from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security Investigations Task Force, U.S. Marshals Service, ADOC Investigations and Intelligence Division, Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, and Bay Minette Police Department. Washington did not immediately resign, but administrative disciplinary actions are pending. He had served as a correctional officer since October 2007.

Well looking at his picture, what’d you expect?
I guess he succumbed to the endless pressures of the inmates. Just think, now they have lowered the minimum age for corrections officers to 18. That should be against the law!!!
I’m am in complete shock, not in a hundred years would I have thought Wiggins would be involved in anything like this.
So sad, pathetic and disappointing.
Well this is one caught now hundreds if not thousands to go he is just a grain of sand on the sea shore.
Need to weed out the rest of these corrupt public servants that are turning the blind eye to the flow of drugs and other contraband into the prisons – and how coincidental that Fountain is right outside of Holman.
conspiracy to traffic sounds like he did not have drugs on him. But the fed’s say he though about getting drugs.
So remember this kids in merica a though can get you 20 years
He’s one of the crooks He will fit right into the general prison population. Enjoy prison scumbag.
This is certainly not the path, for crossing down over those tracks.
