Tate Beats Washington In District Game; Honors ‘98 Championship Team

The Tate Aggies picked up another district win Friday night, 11-5 over Washington.

Cole Fryman earned the win for Tate in three innings, allowing two runs on two hits while striking out two. Four other pitchers — Ethan George, Brantley Culbertson, Jace Dunsford and Easton Sidner all record outs on the way to the Tate win.

Mason Land and Hunter McLean led Tate at the plate with three hits each.

Tate was coming off a 17-1 blowout win over Washington on Thursday.

The Aggies are 10-1-1 on the season. Next week, they will play Denmark, GA, on Tuesday and Tallahassee Lincoln on Friday.

Before Friday night’s game, Tate honored their 1998 state championship team. The pitching staff was led by Frankie McGill who won the 1998 Gatorade player of the year for Florida, and Brad Sollon went on to
pitch in the majors for Cincinnati. The team went 32-3 with 322 runs, 38 home runs, a .380 team batting average, a .516 on-base percentage, 83 stolen bases and a 1.83 team ERA.

Tate 15, Washington 3 (JV)

The junior varsity Tate Aggies beat Washington 15-3 Friday afternoon.
