Power Pole Snapped By Truck In Molino Crash

March 11, 2019

A box truck brought down a utility pole and power lines this morning in Molino.

The driver of the truck was not injured when he struck the pole at the intersection of Highway 95A and Molino Road.

The intersection was closed in all directions following the 8:45 a.m. crash due to downed power lines. It remained closed as Gulf Power worked to make repairs.

The truck was reportedly hauling U.S. Mail to the Molino Post Office.

The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating.

It’s a big mail truck and it’s hard on narrow roads and driver on time schedule and if you would notice in the picture it’s foggy. That could have been the 1st time the driver was in our area. Only the driver knows what really happened.

I see many negative remarks in these comments. Maybe some of you should think before you speak. It is possible that the driver had a heart attack, swerved to avoid another idiot driving upon the center line or someone who took their eyes from the road playing with their stereo, like a wild teenager maybe. There are many possibilities and scenarios that may contribute to this accident. Maybe one of you whom do not seem to care more than your own self righteous opinion.
What if it were a member of your family? Bet you’d stop and think then! Wouldn’t you?
And L H. If you look at the pole and the ending position of the truck, you would see it was northbound on 95A. There is no stop sign there from that direction. It seems that someone (which happens quite a bit) pulled out in to cross going westbound on molino rd, heading for Hwy 29. Lets see what they find out.

    Just sayin…

I’m regards to your comment about passing I’m pretty sure LH meant passing going the opposite direction…. It does say the truck rides the center line… I too have witnessed this.

Typically the same driver will have the same route. Everyone needs a job to pay bills. However, we should all be safe on the roads. Being tired is not a reason to drive crazy amc possibly kill someone bc your in a hurry. If it is a different driver all of the time perhaps this company should hire some new drivers bc this is an everyday occurrence.

    To LH.
The driver is always hauling butt and you pass him every morning? Then you cringe when he comes bye? Who is the one really hauling booty? You or the truck driver?

Before everyone jumps to conclusions… You need to know that multiple people drive these mail delivery trucks. It is under investigation, he could have fallen asleep or passed out at the wheel. Thankfully no one was hurt or died! Trucks can be replaced! Human lives can not. These drivers also work long hours in the night to deliver mail to distant post offices! I’m sure he feels bad this happened and needs his job to pay bills like everyone else.

With so many folks complaining about his speed, maybe he’ll slow down now. Glad it was a pole he killed and not a person.

This is weird. If two people observed the same vehicle at numerous occasions driving irresponsible before – maybe they should take a look at him (drug testing) h

How do you miss the stop sign, how fast was he hauling to snap that pole driving uphill?? He was hauling more than mail!!

Not surprised, I pass him every morning on my way to work. He is always hauling butt and I cringe when he comes bye. He rides the center lane and it feels like he is going to side swipe me.
