New Ransom Middle Rules: Cellphones Restricted, No Open Containers, No Headphones

March 26, 2019

New rules went into effect Monday at Ransom Middle School governing the use of cellphones, open drink containers and headphones.

Cellphone use during class is now prohibited, according to the school. Students are allowed to use their phones during lunch and between classes, but they must be put away before entering classrooms.

Also, no headphones are allowed, and no open beverage containers are allowed on campus.

I survived my life in school when there were no cellphones and very sparse land lines…..I am retired now…and you know what….I actually did not spontaneous combust……

Welcome to the real world. These whining parents need to suck it up and enforce school rules. Ms Perry at Ernest Ward Middle School has had these restrictions in place for years. Glad Ransom is finally catching up to the rest of the County.

@ alecia with reference to this policy including others than students. Obviously, you don’t understand the difference in adult responsibility and child behavior. I hope the adults act in a responsible manner. Equality between staff and students just is not going to happen!

You can have your cellphone before class, but you can’t use it during class. This will be very difficult to enforce. Cheating just got quite a bit a easier. “Can you send me a picture of your pg. 2 test answers?”

It appears this policy is a death-blow to the soft drink machines.
