Private Investigator Murder Suspect Sentenced To Prison For Racketeering, Fraud

February 22, 2019

The woman accused of murdering a local private investigator and burying her body on family property in Cantonment was sentenced to prison Thursday on unrelated charges.

Ashley Britt McArthur, 41, received seven years in state prison for racketeering and organized fraud. Once released, she will be on probation for three years.

While employed by Pensacola Automatic Amusement, from 2015 to 2017, McArthur embezzled thousands of dollars from two clients, the Azalea Cocktail Lounge and Seville Quarter.

Pensacola Automatic Amusement serviced entertainment machines and jukeboxes for various clients in the Pensacola area for 40 years. McArthur falsified collection reports for jukeboxes at the Azalea Lounge and Seville Quarter while keeping the unreported proceeds.

McArthur is facing a first-degree murder charge for the death of 33-year old Taylor Wright, a private investigator and former police officer. Wright’s body was found in September 2017 off Britt Road, just west of County Road 97 near Muscogee Road in Cantonment. She allegedly stole $34,000 from Wright.

She will face trial on the murder charge later this year.

Someone posted :to think this person was in law enforcement is scary. Hmmmm…. The town I live in is full of corruption by the law enforcement agencies. Not all but many have no business being in that field. Not long ago we had a cop harassing girls with drug problems and instead of arresting them for possession of drugs that he caught them with he’d bribe and threaten them in exchange for sexual favors. Trust me, that’s not the worst of what’s happened in our community involving the police. There’s 3 books written about the corruption here. ROTTEN TO THE CORE 1 2 & 3

The previous comment that “the bible speaks to these times” is such an infantile statement. People have been killing other people for money for thousands of years. Does the bible speak to the gun violence we are being subjected to because your lying obstructionist republickcum politicians bow down to the evil that is the “nra” ?

My understanding is that Both women were in Law Enforcement.
McArthur, the one who committed fraud and has a pending prison sentence and who is accused of Murder was with the sheriff office for some time before she decided to resign.
The victim of the murder, Taylor Wright, was also in Law Enforcement.

Sad story for both of the women involved and their families and friends.
Wondering what our world is becoming when someone is murdered then abandoned over money and such but the Bible speaks to these times.

The love of money will get you sooner or later.

The victim was a former police officer with Pensacola PD. Her alleged killer was a former CSI. I thought I read some where that she worked for only six months as a CDI with the sheriffs office.

Paren’s couldn’t buy her way out of this one! Now I’m waiting for the next trial. I would love to see justice done. What a terrible “friend” and person.

Charlie, McArthur was a crime scene technician with the Escambia County Sheriff’s Department. She resigned in 2006.

@Williewonka—Read the story again & a bit slower. I do believe it was the victim it states, as being in law enforcement, & not her.

Goes to show you that who you think is your friend, is really an evil enemy and fake.

Buried the body on her family’s property. Now that’s some serious crap.

Ashley won’t be rocking the juke box any longer at the Azalea and Seville Quarter.

Murder trial in the future and just add that onto the 7 years.

This person did things that caused irreparable harm to two of my family members, who were employed at this company. I am grateful she is being sent to prison for those illegal actions. Now she needs to be punished even more severely forvtaking the life of an innocent person. #justicefortaylor

At least she has a permanent home until her next trial.

..the real “black widow”..she should never spend one more day out of prison.
    She is pure evil..

Justice and more to come. To think this person was in law enforcement is scary.
