James Arnold Sorrells

February 17, 2019

James “Wolfman” Arnold Sorrells, resident of Pensacola, Florida, passed away on Wednesday, February 13, 2019, at the age of 72. He was born to Arnold and Mary Sorrells in Luverne, Alabama on August 21, 1946. James worked as a certified welder with Tex Edwards Crane Company before becoming disabled. In his younger years he played little league baseball then played semi-pro baseball and later coached his daughter in softball and his son and nephew in baseball. He had a love for the sport of baseball. He had a great sense of humor and a love for making people laugh. James had a heart of gold. He would give you his last dollar or the shirt of his back if you needed it. He had a nick name for all of his children and wife. All of his cousins, nephews and friends called him Wolfman. He loved hunting. He was always happy as he lit up while telling his hunting stories. He was raised up Pentecostal Holiness. He attended Pace Assembly of God Church. He had a love and passion for God’s word. He loved to hear preaching from men that were on fire for God. Men that are not afraid of preaching God’s word the way it was written! (Bro. Clifford McGraw, Bro. Glenn Lowery and Bro. Joey Rogers).

He is preceded in death by his parents; children, Timmy Sorrells and Kathy Lynn Sorrells; brother, Dwight Sorrells; and mother in law, Ruth McDonald.

James will be truly missed by his beloved wife, Linda; his children, Angie (Jimmy) Coleman, Pam (Mike) Malone, Anita Cox, Jennifer (Darryl) McBride, James David Sorrells, and Arianna Sorrells; grandchildren, Brittany Phillips, Dessirah Knight, Brianna Coleman, Travis Knight, TraDarius O’Bair, Darryl McBride, Jr., Sabrina Cox, John Cox, Jake Cox, Jeremiah Sorrells, Kate Sorrells, Destinee McBride, Ashlynn Sorrells, and Bentley Sorrells; nine great-grandkids; many nieces and nephews, and his beloved doggie, Tiny.
