Cantonment Woman Charged With Child Abuse

UPDATE: CHARGES IN THIS CASE WERE DROPPED AS UNFOUNDED. CLICK HERE FOR DETAILS.
A Cantonment woman has been charged with felony child abuse.
An Escambia County Sheriff’s deputy was in his vehicle outside the Raceway on Highway 29 at Muscogee Road and observed Marshall Gage Gilley, 34, grab the child and pull him out of the gas station, according to arrest report. The incident was captured on the deputy’s in-car camera.
The child said Gilley was taking him to meet his mother. He told deputies that Gilley slammed on brakes several times between his residence and the gas station in an attempt to make him hit his head on dash, and Gilley grabbed him by the shirt and head-butted him in the upper lip, the report states. Deputies noted the child had a swollen upper lip with dried blood.
About a half hour before the Raceway incident, deputies responded to a residence in reference to a disturbance between Gilley and the child over the child not taking his medication. The deputy stated the child did not have the lip injury at the residence.
The Raceway clerk told officers that she witnessed Gilley yelling and pulling the boy, and the clerk told them to leave the store due to causing a disturbance.
Gilley was released from the Escambia County Jail on a $1,000 bond.

All charges dropped within 13 days, the 14yr old is getting the help he needs, and the family appreciates your thoughts and well wishes.
Public lashings with a bamboo pole!
Another child abuse case not taken seriously by Escambia County courts. Poor child. God be with him and keep him safe.
No one in the state of Florida protects the children. Not judges, not lawyers, cops aren’t allowed or that SOB would be dead, I guarantee it. Police and Sheriffs are the only ones who care but their hands are tied by our incredibly incompetent legal system. This child will go right back to this sicko with zero interruption. Florida judges are the worst I’ve ever seen. It’s never about the child in this state. No matter how bad the dad is. It’s never about the child.
It’s a shame that our “justice system” skips over child abuse and sex crimes so badly. Smoke a little pot or drive without a valid license and you get thrown straight behind bars, but go right ahead and beat kids or rape people! Just takes a quick grand to be free from those consequences. Sucks that “protect and serve” means only to help make the government a dollar these days. Mark my words: Just like sexual predators still get to be teachers or remain in their positions of power – I can ASSURE all of you sweet, hopeful people that this woman, or whatever it likes to be called, is going to be within headbutting distance of that poor child again, and soon.
Looks like prison material to me
That’s not right to treat a kid like that I have kids and this person needs there but wrip she should not be alone with anyone kids ever again
I sure hope that one has been forbidden to be around that child in the future.
Hmmm
She looks like a tough one.
Just not right! Hope the child goes somewhere safe?
Just sick….ticks me off when a child is treated so badly. Apparently that “woman” wants to be a dude! And got off on $1000 bond. Jeez…SMH
Only a $1000 bond? That is a joke!!!
Who protects the child? Really sad.
