Helton Ray “Sonny” Peebles

Mr. Helton Ray “Sonny” Peebles, age 77, passed away on Friday, January 18, 2019 in Pensacola, Florida.

Mr. Peebles was a native of Bratt, FL and had resided in Flomaton, AL for the past 41 years. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, avid fisherman and camper. He retired with the US Navy with 20 years of service, retired from Addico in Brewton with 20 years of service and attended the Osaka Baptist Church. He is preceded in death by his parents, Luther and Marguerite Peebles and brother Bud Peebles.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Claudia Marie Peebles of Flomaton, AL; two sons, Luther Ray (Ammie) Peebles of Stapleton, AL and Brain Karl (Daphne) Peebles of Stapleton, AL; four granddaughters, Stevie (Isaiah) Day, Elizabeth (JD) Duddy, Whitney Thompson and Brianna Peebles and six great grandchildren, McKinleigh, Alayna, Everly, Kaiden, Kasen and Rylie.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 23, 2019 at 10:00 AM at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Ricky Peebles officiating.

Burial will follow at Traveler’s Rest Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, January 22, 2019 from 6 to 8 PM at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Dewayne Gresham, Mike Howington, Donald Gresham, Michael Gresham, Jason Peebles and Ronald Peebles.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Paul Knowles, Robert Smith and Hughey Gresham.

In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Osaka Freewill Baptist Church in his honor.
