ECSO: Woman Smashed Stranded Motorist’s Windshield, Smuggled Meth Into County Jail
January 3, 2019
A McDavid woman allegedly used a baseball bat to bust the windshield of stranded motorist and smuggled meth into the Escambia County Jail.
Valene Walker, 33, was charged with criminal mischief, possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, possession of marijuana and two counts of introduction of contraband into a detention facility.
A woman told Escambia County Sheriff’s Office deputies that she ran out of gas and pulled into a driveway in the 6900 block of North Century Boulevard. She said Walker came outside, starting arguing with her before she picked up a baseball bat and busted the windshield, an arrest report states. Walker then allegedly fled the scene.
When Walker was arrested on a warrant for the incident, jailers reported finding 40 grams of methamphetamine in two plastic bags hidden in her bra.
Walker is awaiting trial on unrelated charges of trespassing and bribery. Last August, her ex-boyfriend called the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office to the 6000 block of North Century Boulevard after Walker was allegedly banging on the window of his residence. An arriving deputy reported that he observed Walker on the property causing a disturbance as she walked from the backdoor to the front yard of the home. Walker was previous trespass-warned from the property by the ECSO.
While Walker was being transported to the Escambia County Jail on the trespassing charge, she tried to bribe the deputy, according to an arrest report, by offering to give him the bond money in her possession so he would let her go. The report notes that audio and video were captured on the deputy’s in-car camera.
She remained in the Escambia County Jail Thursday morning.

all drug crimes are violent crimes. where do you think people get the money for drugs. somewhere along the line somebody gets mugged, beat up or killed, druggies will do anything for drugs.
Maybe some of you fine folks stating that she just needs help could post her bail and let her live with you. Maybe you could make sure she gets back and forth to counseling and help pay the restitution for past and future crimes so she can have a fresh start.
Peter for less b.s.
Cheers David
She needs help, she needs jail, she needs, she needs……..blah, blah, blah. What she TRULY needs is the desire to get out of her “situation”. You just can’t help someone who doesn’t want the help. Until SHE decides it’s enough nothing will change her except death(sad but true) hopefully she’ll realize that, quit falling victim to the same people, grow up and own her situation. Then she’ll be ready to seek out and accept “help”.
Yes, Valene was a sweet and beautiful child. Yes, she grew up into a troubled woman. Yes, she’s had a lot of legal and drug problems.
Honestly, she needs rehab AND serious therapy AND getting away from that area to get herself straightened out.
This woman has been in and out of jail 50 (FIFTY) times!!!! What is the limit for keeping her there? She obviously has no respect for the law or other people’s property. She is not repentant (50 times) and eventually someone will be hurt or killed either in arresting her or by her or the drugs she sells. I’m sure she was a sweet girl, but she hasn’t been sweet in a long time. Throw her in and throw away the key.
Check out the Escambia County Florida Clerk of Court page. 50, yes 50 times she has been in and out of court. 8 of those cases are still open. Come on people this woman needs more than what she can get in rehab!
CONSIDERING:
“This woman needs help, not jail. ”
Other people need windshields. It is possible you can not always have both.
Jail does not exist solely to lead a soul to repentance.
Sometimes it exists to protect others from violent people or people who prey on others.
(By the way, just because someone is carrying drugs does not automatically mean they are addicts. Sometimes it just means they haven’t sold out yet — not that this may or may not apply here. The drugs could have been planted every time.)
David for better people
failing that — for safer people
*Suspect takes baseball bat to vehicle while occupied.
*Then people claim that they are non-violent.
Do you people even read the news story before you comment or did you just see “Drugs” and start defending the suspect?
No one is oppressing the suspect. She made choices and there are consequences for those choices.
The system is totally broken. This woman needs help, not jail. We are bankrupting this nation with locking up people rather than solving problems with non violent offenders. She was violent breaking the window, but really this person is probably just one more person who has drug issues, and jail does not solve drugs. She will become unglued again if not given some proper therapy and counseling. Sometimes it takes something as simple as authorities who are intelligent and try something different because jail sure has not worked and this political environment which demands we get raw meat off the streets and into jail because that shows how tough we are on crime…..we are not tough at all…..the system is bankrupting us with a huge criminal justice system, where we dump human beings into a system who are basically addicted and non violent. We need to focus on violent crime and dangerous pathological offenders who get released back into the public and hurt people……….this person needs help, and we all will be better when she gets it.
I THINK SHE NEEDS REHAB AND IF THAT DOESNT WORK JAIL TIME WOULD.
Looking pass the unhappy face, she is a beautiful woman. Drugs will certainly change your attitude, personality, and more. She needs help. What she did was totally wrong, and she should face time, since she did the crime. However, I believe she could turn her life around if she would spend her time in a facility that would treat her for what ever her problems stem from. I am praying for her and hope she can get her life back in order, cause I feel deep inside, she is a great person. BTW, I don’t know her, nor am I related to her. I just see something in her face that made me think she is pleading for help.
Allegedly broke windshield, it was my wife’s car and she definitely broke the windshield.
She was a sweet child many years ago — and even now not my worst cousin.
