Behind Bars: ECSO Nabs Man On The Run Since November Molino Manhunt
January 12, 2019
A man Cantonment man that was the focus of a manhunt two months ago in Molino is now behind bars.
Colby Chase Myrick, 27, was taken into custody in the area of Massachusetts Avenue Friday afternoon, less than 24 hours after he was featured in a NorthEscambia.com story about his outstanding warrants.
Myrick is charged with two counts of possession of a weapon or ammunition by a convicted felon, carrying a concealed weapon, vehicle theft, damage to property, larceny and a probation violation. He is being held in the Escambia County Jail without bond.
On November 12, an Escambia County Sheriff’s Office lieutenant got behind a white pickup truck pulling a utility trailer with no tag. Before the deputy initiated a traffic stop, the vehicle pulled into the yard of a residence on Molino Road just east of Nicholson Drive. A few minutes later, the resident called the Sheriff’s Office to report that a male had ran from the truck toward a wooded area.
Deputies responded and a female that was in the vehicle identified the male as Myrick.
Escambia County deputies and a K-9 team from the Century Correctional Institution searched the area south of Molino Road and east of Highway 95A for several hours. Their search continued well into the afternoon and progressed at least as far south as Meharg Road.
During the search, deputies located a gun in the woods that they believe Myrick left behind, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

All u haters shame shame.shame on u. Colby is a good person friend and ya drugs may have got ahold of him . He was not a bad guy just like trey k. He didnt want to get taken away from his family and life fade away in a cell …. hes a young spirit probably scared didnt wana go back.. he may have done stupid things but over all he and trey k are good peeps and the law n all u haters with nothing better to do made them who they are well plus the drugs
I’m glad he was not hurt in the capture, I know this young man and his family, all I can say is shame on the drugs. Hopefully the truth will come out and he gets the blame for what he did not what people said he done when they were not there. Hopefully he can get the help he needs. That would leave a space for a molester, or killer and maybe a abuser. May God be with him and his family. Be strong.
For all of you holier-than-thow people, keep your condemning comments to yourselves. He is not a danger to society. He’s not a violent person. Considering what he suffered as a child he could be a lot worse. I know that doesn’t excuse his actions but you don’t know him. He didn’t just run into that woman and speed away. He got out and checked on them to make sure they weren’t hurt before he left. That was an accident that any one of you could’ve had. There are plenty of people that have done a lot worse than him that are out walking amongst us simply because of who they’re related to or because they have more money than most. Like I said, it doesn’t excuse his actions and he should do the time for the things he’s done but don’t just write someone off and brand them as this “danger to society” because you don’t know him. Like all of you bible beaters would like to say, “He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone”.
This guy is a North Escambia frequent flyer. He fled a crash after striking and injuring an elderly woman with her grandchild. He ran for months then as well. It is time for the courts to do their job. He is a threat to society and needs to be treated as such.
He will be right back on the streets in no time at all!
Nice disguise- guess what happens next…it’s time to go to prison!
Excellent work ECSD in capturing Myrick. Hopefully, after his conviction (again) he will be sent to Raiford.
