North Escambia Area Traffic Crashes Under Investigation

The Florida Highway Patrol is investing two North Escambia area traffic crashes on Friday.

At least one person was injured in a crash about 3:15 p.m. on Highway 29 near the Canoe Creek bridge, just north of Roach Road. Further details have not been released by the Florida Highway Patrol.

No one was injured in a single vehicle rollover crash Friday night about 7:45 p.m. on County Road 97 near Piney Lane.

Both wrecks remain under investigation by the Florida Highway Patrol. Additional information has not been made available.

    The pouring rain we’ve been experiencing over the past week makes the roads hazardous. It doesn’t take much – a slick tire or two, excessive speeds, momentary distractions, or even misjudging the depth of a puddle – to cause a loss of control that results in accidents like these. Be careful, friends!

    Don’t assume it’s texting! It’s more than likely an animal being avoided.

    If one is texting and loses control of their car, their insurance should not have to pay.
    TEXTING HAS TO STOP. I am not saying texting is all the problem but there are too many single auto accidents in this area.

    One factor I see in a lot of these is distracted driving.
    No reason for these wrecks if the driver paid attention.
    This and speeding or over driving your skill. As I seen a bunch weave and swerve and wind up wrecked out due to not knowing how to handle the vehicle once a issue occurs.
