Century Council Honors 20-Year Member Gary Riley
December 18, 2018
The Town of Century recognized longtime council member Gary Riley Monday night at his last council meeting. After 20 years on the council, Riley decided not to run for reelection.
Riley said he always worked to make Century a better place, and he plans to be in the audience at future meetings.
He was presented a plaque that stated, “For 20 Years of Faith, Dedication, and Absolute Excellence Towards This Town and Its Community.”
Riley is still officially a council member until his replacement, James Smith, Jr., is sworn in on January 7.

Mayor Gary Riley, remember you heard it here first ………..
Congratulations Mr. Riley. Thank you for all the years you gave the Town. We love you and wish you the best in the future.
Thank you Mr. Riley. 20 years is a long time.
He has seen much come and go and stayed out the scandals as far as I can tell
He probably knows a lot more than he tells
Alright council, we are counting on you. 2019. Here’s to looking at the realistic bigger picture for people in this area. Thank you again. People who step up to serve are just regular people willing to serve the public.
May Century have the support and leadership necessary to make informed, realist, not self serving, decisions this upcoming year.
Congratulations Uncle Gary for being honored for your many years of dedicated service to the town of Century! Now you can fully, officially and realistically enjoy your RETIREMENT YEARS!
Love Your Niece
