Molino Man Found Incompetent To Stand Trial For Arson, Burglary

November 19, 2018

A Molino man has been found incompetent to stand trial for arson, burglary and several other charges.

Judge John Miller ordered Ivy Dwayne Little committed to the Florida State Hospital.

On April 10, a resident of Fairgrounds Road near the Molino Boat Ramp and her family had a recreational fire in a fire pit by the river. Later that night, she told deputies that she saw  Little, 55, by the fire pit and called the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies arrived, but were unable to locate Little.

The following morning, the resident smelled smoke in her home and found a small fire smoldering on a concrete floor inside her enclosed porch. The fire was still smoldering when deputies arrived on scene.

The fire caused burn marks on the floor and possible smoke damage. The resident reported a a pair of shoes, a tent and two umbrellas missing.

Deputies located Little walking on Highway 29 near their Molino Precinct and placed him under arrest on a first degree felony charge of arson of an occupied dwelling, along with burglary of an occupied dwelling, criminal mischief and petit theft.

The incident was investigated by the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office and the Florida State Fire Marshal’s Office.

    REGARDING:
” an arsenist sets out to fully ingulf the surrounding at which no one more than likely would escape!”

Although arsonists do it that way sometimes, that is not the only way.

“Arson is the crime of intentionally, deliberately and maliciously setting fire to buildings, wildland areas, abandoned homes, vehicles or other property with the intent to cause damage or enjoy the act.” (per my buddy, Wiki)

    AND:
“What fuels me the most is the comments stating that this man should not be a member of our society due to a mental illness.. Why?? So label him no good for that off with his head?? Shame on you!!! God forbid it was your family member in this situation.. You would have a totally different outlook on the situation!!”

    Because he is dangerous.

If your loved ones were in danger or killed because of his actions, possibly “you would have a totally different outlook on the situation.” It would probably not be as important to you as to why he did it as the fact that he was known to do such things and permitted to continue. (God will forgive people for loving their children.)

    David for safe loved ones

So, Did they find these things in his possession because last I checked…Seeing someone in your yard & an incident happening the next day does not constitute guilt on his part!!! I personally think she’s a judgmental witch & wanna know what PROOF they have that he actually started the fire or took the items she CLAIMS are missing!!!! Mental Illness is a growing problem caused by you High & think your so mighty JUDGMENTAL INDIVIDUALS who would rather crucify than help!!!! That’s ok though, your the only ones who have to answer to that one day!!!!!!

I do not believe for one second this man is incompetent.. I think he is confused as to the fact why is he being falsely accused!! Personally I think he went into the victims porch intending to steal and possibly lost a Amber off his clothing because an arsenist sets out to fully ingulf the surrounding at which no one more than likely would escape!! What fuels me the most is the comments stating that this man should not be a member of our society due to a mental illness.. Why?? So label him no good for that off with his head?? Shame on you!!! God forbid it was your family member in this situation.. You would have a totally different outlook on the situation!!

people can judge but he really does have mental problems and they should have been addressed long time ago but when you ask for help in escambia county,it costs money until you really do something wrong. you ask for help and the state attorney always wants to add charges.been there done that with my daughter.i feel for him and now i hope he gets the help he needs.some people really need to go to state hospital and stay.why do we pay taxes just for that.

What would your opinion be if that porch fire did take and burn that woman’s house down with her in it???? Crazy or not….they should have charged him with attempted murder also, and that (should) be a death penalty!

No people..That is not “what’s wrong with our jujudicial system or the world today”
There is just way to many people out there that like to judge others ( and that’s a no-no) and way to many that don’t read whole paragraphs anymore. JS

A mentally ill individual doesn’t know they have mental problems. Just like stupid people don’t know they are stupid.

Hopefully the man will get the help he needs to live a better life than he is accustomed to.

Not everyone in this world is smarter than a 5th grader.

“he should not be a part of our society! That’s what is wrong with our judicial system, he can’t stand trial but our jails are full so just let him back out into the world”

They locked him in the nuthouse he seems to be nuts. He is not out.

If he is “ incompetent “ to stand trial, then he should not be apart of our society! That’s what is wrong with our judicial system, he can’t stand trial but our jails are full so just let him back out into the world until he does something worse than stealing an almost burning a home down.
