Escambia Tax Collector Offers Property Tax Payment Plan

Need a little time to pay your property taxes?

Escambia County Tax Collector Scott Lunsford is offering taxpayers a chance to make partial payments.

If a property owner decides to make partial payments, the following information applies:

  • Property owner must submit an application (found on the back of the tax bill, available at the tax collector’s office and on our website) with initial partial payment.
  • Partial payments are accepted for current year taxes only from November 1 until March 31.
  • No discount allowed for partial payments.
  • A $10 processing fee deducted from each partial payment.
  • Partial payments are not accepted after March 31, and any remaining balance as of April 1 is delinquent and subject to all applicable penalties and fees.

    I added mine up and if I pay by the end of November verses paying at end of March I will only pay an extra $28. I’d prefer to pay after Christmas or with my income tax refund.
    They’ll get ya’ either way!

    I agree with billy, you offer the people that have a hard time paying a payment plan and then you take away their discounts and charge them more. not much of an incentive but some have no choice but to be shafted. processing fees are a joke.

    man they charge poor folks more ……..its $10 extra for each payment made on installment plan……if you use a credit card they charge another extra 3 1/2 percent I believe…..the poor get charged extra
