ECSO: Cantonment Man Attacks Wife After She Cooks The Wrong Dinner

November 15, 2018

A Cantonment man is facing felony charges for allegedly attacking his wife after she cooked the wrong meal.

Brian Sherrard Baker, 31, was charged with battery by strangulation, false imprisonment and battery.

The victim told deputies that she got into a verbal altercation with Baker over her cooking the wrong type of food for dinner before he threw the food on top of her head, kicked her onto the ground and started choking her, according to an arrest report. She said he punched her multiple times and choked her so hard she could not breathe.

Baker allegedly would not let her leave home, shoving her onto the floor and holding her down with his foot on her head. He later shoved her against a counter, inflicting pressure on a recent surgical site, the report states. He also allegedly grabbed her around the throat, shoved her against a wall and threw a remote control at her head during an argument involving an internet provider.

The Escambia County Sheriff’s Office report states the victim suffered multiple injuries.

Baker told deputies that the couple had an argument, but no physical altercation took place. The responding deputy noted visible markings and bruises on Baker’s arms.

He was released from the Escambia County Jail on a $7,500 bond.

The arrest report does not specify what food items were in the meal that led to the couple’s initial argument.

Wow, he just doesn’t know how lucky he WAS. With our social culture being almost completely destroyed and getting worse every year, he should have considered himself lucky to find a girl that would cook. Amoung the minority of those who have the character to do so, even more lucky to find a girl that can cook. Sad. My sons, both conservative millennials (an endangered species) say they don’t even want a family because they wouldn’t want to bring children into such a miserable society. I agree. As for the man above, he should be bound and horsewhipped by the woman. That’s justice.

Any kind.of domestic violence or battery related case should automatically have a restraining order attachef to it preventing contact with the victim…. However, how hood are restrsining orders really? All it takes is a split second to pull a trigger or get a hold of the victim again and can prove to be fatal begore the police ever.have a chance to respond to a violation of restraing order call. A kot can happen in a short time. And last time I checked.. We havent mastered teleportation yet.. Keep them in jail for the safety of the victim!

Her daddy must not still be living because I can assure u my daddy would handle this low life excuse for a man if this happened to me. No matter how old I was. And I truly hope she has the sense to press the state attorney to go for the max time on these charges this man is dangerous and he will end up seriously injuring her or killing her.

    ATTN: CITIZENS

    WHY CIVICS IS SO IMPORTANT:

Justices serve on the Supreme Court – County and Circuit Judges preside over our local courts. And 99.9% of our local judges are very committed to our community. And, when we do get a race locally, people don’t do their research but they insist on voting blindly, which usually results in our retaining whomever was previously serving, but not necessarily the best candidate, as evidenced by our recent judicial election.

Wait until he goes to bed or passes out and then place a large skillet of cooking oil on the big burner, let it come to a boil.

I hope he was told he could not go near that house or her again. Because he may kill her next time. So police be aware and watchful.

If she ever cooks another meal for him she deserves him. He would starve at my house. What spoiled rotten brat he is.

The people of Escambia County lazily vote YES to retain every court justice year after year when they should be voting NO, and then wonder why all these criminals and dead beats continue to be released onto the streets with a mere slap on the wrist only to commit more crimes.

The 750 bucks he forfeited to a bondsman would have paid for quite a few meals in a good restaurant. Hope he enjoys the Ramen noodles she should be serving him for a couple of months.

No bond…after that kind of treatment of a woman…no bond. Stay in jail and think about it for a while.

  23. tg on November 15th, 2018 7:28 am

There are a lot of good men out there for her that would love to have a woman that would cook for them.

  24. CURTIS BRADLEY on November 15th, 2018 7:11 am

HE SHOULD HAVE GOTTEN ATTEMPTED MURDER CHARGES!!!!!!!!!!! PERIOD.

  25. IMHO on November 15th, 2018 6:51 am

If he beat her like that over food, what’s he going to do being sent to jail?!? Run sweetheart, prayers you find safety and peace.

  26. Trocarman on November 15th, 2018 6:41 am

He assaulted a woman and acted like a real jerk. He gets a low bond. One of the things wrong with our judicial system is not taking firmer action against against violent people.

  27. Oversight on November 15th, 2018 6:38 am

Certainly this meets the domestic violence law, so why wasn’t Baker charged it and given a no bond? Sort of like yesterday’s man passed out behind the wheel in Cantonment not being tested (article didn’t say one way or the other) and charged with DUI. Laziness, poor police work, lack of supervision or all three?

  28. Grand Locust on November 15th, 2018 5:59 am

I guess the spinach quiche just did not meet the standards as the silver oak certainly was the wrong wine, and the truffles were just not acceptable.

  29. I Am So Confused on November 15th, 2018 4:09 am

HE GOT OUT ON BOND???? What is God’s name caused the Judge to issue him a bond? He threw the dinner on her head, punched this woman after she recently had surgery, choked her until she could not breathe, held her against her will, threw a remote control at her head and he was given a bond? First of all, this man should be thankful that she even cooked a meal for him (there are some women that don’t) and second of all, I can not believe after everything she went through, that he was even let out on bond. I have read so many abuse reports on this website and some were not even this bad, but the judge issued a NO BOND on those people. Wow, she had better get some protection from this MONSTER because obviously, the judge is not out to protect her.

He’s gonna hate that jail food haha should of settled.

  31. Liz on November 15th, 2018 12:57 am

Pathetic to say the least. He should go without good period and for her to cook a home cooked meal to begin with she is to be praised and Protected from this ungrateful so called man. He doesn’t deserve her or any other female. Eat out of a garbage dumpster from now on. People are so selfish and self centered and have no right to be that way.

Why is his bail so low?! That smug look on his face makes me sick. I pray his wife doesn’t take him back.
