Cantonment Man Charged With Sex Crimes Against Juvenile Male

November 23, 2018

A Cantonment man was charged with sex crimes against a juvenile male.

Michael Davis Edgar, 45, was charged lewd lascivious behavior, distribution of obscene material to a minor, and two counts contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

Edgar operated a business out of a trailer on Fowler Avenue near the Hadji Temple. Inside that trailer, he allegedly provided a juvenile male with alcohol, marijuana and prescription medication while he was working on the trailer, according to an arrest report. The victim told Escambia County Sheriff’s Office  investigators that he and Edgar watched pornography together and sexual acts occurred.

Edgar’s statements to deputies were redacted from the arrest report. He was released from the Escambia County Jail on a $112,000 bond.

    Mike Amerson I didn’t say that I did not have confidence in law enforcement ..in fact I worked for about 25 yrs with the law enforcement before retiring..but I still don’t think this man is guilty of anything like this..I think that the kids are mad at him or his family for something and think that they can get something (money etc) out of them….

    i personally knew this man hes known me since i was born, hes like a father to me and i dont believe he would do anything like this hes the one who always taught me to stay true to myself and that its okay to believe something and not to give up on that and i dont think he would ever do anything like this

    @doubter… what…not a better person to provide alcohol and drugs to a minor? Or maybe he didn’t do it… the child supplied the impairing paraphernalia and made up the sexual accusations. Either way, there has to be enough to go on to make an arrest. In the meantime, while he is awaiting trial… would you leave him alone with a bottle of booze, pot, pills and your grandchildren and have enough faith that he won’t touch any of it/them?

    Innocent until proven guilty. So stop blaming someone u know nothing about, just because a juvenile says something about someone doesn’t make it true. Theres alot of kids out there that just look for attention and this is one sure way to get everyone’s attention by making false allegations of this kind. All you negative people out there maybe one day you will have the opportunity to have a story told on u also that’s not true.

    Doubter, there were a lot of people that knew Ted Bundy too. You’ve got to have a little more confidence in your Law Enforcement Officers.

    Where are this mans rights? What are the kids now a days taught? For some, nothing!!!!! Their raised by parents/grandparents that could care less about them. For some, they come from broken homes and are not taught values or respect anymore. They’re allowed to watch, go and do whatever they want too. Then their guardians blame everyone else for the things they do. What if this man is found: not guilty!!!!!! Then what???? His life has been Damaged!!!!! His family been broken!!!!! His respect thrown out the window!!!!!!! What’s the law going to do with those troubled kids/teens???? NOTHING!!!!!! Just let them go FREE!!!! The police, media and all those negative people are not going to say, Oh I’m sorry for judging you. Their not going to put it in the paper or on social media that this man was found not guilty and give him his life back like it was before all this happened. I think the law needs to be changed. Anyone over the age of 13, needs to have their name listed/told as well. This man and his family should not be the only ones that are being crucified. The other kid/family should be sharing the stakes together. If these troubled teens are not punished for their actions, then what are they being taught??? Nothing again

    @Doubter
    You may have thought you knew this guy and to you there couldn’t be a better person in Pensacola. We need to sit back and let the investigation takes it’s course. I’m sure if it proves this individual is guilty we won’t here from you about how great a man he is.

    Pray for his family, they don’t deserve this terrible news.

    It is unbelievable how many of these sick, perverted, sorry excuse for a human being individuals that there are out there. Unfortunately children’s lives are already affected by the time most of them are discovered. Makes me sick. Throw the freaks on an island… preferably Alcatraz, and let them fend for themselves.

    If found guilty he deserves the death penalty.
