The only thing that is a surprise about this is the fact that it happened at Century C.I. The offenders there are well monitored and appreciate the opportunity out of all facilities to be there.

Makeshift knives (shanks) can and are made from all kinds of items. Nobody has to give them to the inmates. Due to under paid officers and budget contraband flows relatively easily in the state prisons. Tighten up is so much easier sad than done. News flash they’re criminals. THEY DO NOT FOLLOW RULES. Weapons are illegal for them to posses in jails/prisons. Yet they do whatever they can to make or get them. Believe it or not some people actually think that if you make something illegal then everyone will automatically stop trying to posses/use said item. I do have a great idea. If you feel that you can do a better job go through the academy, put the on badge, and leave your family every day not knowing if you’ll come home. Don’t forget you get a whopping $1,000 sign on bonus.

There not using knives from Walmart. They make them out of any material they can get their hands on. It’s amazing what they can build with almost anything. They’re like mad scientists in there. Just for self knowledge check out where c.c.i. ranks in worst prisons in Florida. You might be surprised what’s next door or right down the road from your house

I guess some of the new hires are thinking that one thousand dollar hiring bonus was not enough.
