Century’s Mayor Endorses Zimmerman For Congress, Garrett For House

September 3, 2018

A candidate for Florida House and a candidate for Congress have received the endorsement of Century Mayor Henry Hawkins.

“It’s always an honor to support wonderful people. It is my honor and privilege to endorse Dr. Jennifer Zimmerman for Congress,” Hawkins posted on his Facebook page. Zimmerman, a Democrat, is running for the Congressional seat held by Republican Matt Gaetz.

“It’s my pleasure and honor to publicly announce my support for Vikki R. Garrett candidate for Florida House of Representatives District 1. Let’s support her in this race she’s good for our district. As mayor I’ve reached out to her and she’s reached out to me offering her assistance in any way possible,” Hawkins also posted. Garrett is running against Republican Mike Hill on the November ballot.

    Of course.

How stupid and ill informed can some of you be to say you will not support two qualified candidates because Mayor Hawkins says he is personally supporting them. Every office holder has the perogative to give their personal support to whom they feel they personally and politically align with. The other two candidates are so far up 45 butt that if you do want a change you have to change the face of what is not working. Get a life and vote your convictions.

An endorsement form Century’s mayor. That has to be the kiss of death. But we shouldn’t be hatin. He’s just a “black man taking care of business”………….sorry not going to let you live that one down

Wow! His endorsements mean so much! It means I definitely know if we can’t trust him as Mayor, I sure am not going to vote for these two, just because of his endorsement. Just like he is backing Smith Jr and Dubose for Council members. I know they lost my vote too.
PLEASE VOTE IN NOVEMBER and as he so loves to quote on his FB, take back our town one prayer at a time! We need to take back out town before it heads to the sewer that we are paying so much for each moth!

    @Christopher

“He loses his position as mayor”

You almost said that like it was a bad thing.

Bad move on his part. If his actions are any indications as to what these ladies support, i vote against them.

I wonder who Jeff Sessions will endorse.

The Mayor cannot tell one party platform from the other so why go with a party with Pure Socialist leanings. Will this benefit Century as a whole, No! This is why small-time politicians have no business endorsing big time politics because when it blows up in his face, He looses his position as Mayor.

I’m glad Garrett has offered her assistance to the mayor. He sure needs it. Maybe as district rep, she can get the Century government abolished!

Oh, well that’s good. I wouldn’t want to endorse anyone without a good reason.

I just wonder who the inmates at the jails are supporting. It means about the same to me.

If that is his choice then there must be some thing wrong, they will over spend also In that case I will surely vote for some one else. IS GOOFY RUNNING?

You can call that a Kiss Of Death.

  18. M in Bratt on September 3rd, 2018 8:31 am

Well that just settled it for me! I know who I’m NOT voting for!!! Thank you, Mr. Mayor (who doesn’t even know how to do his own job!)

  21. Shay on September 3rd, 2018 8:26 am

    And that means what?

  22. Sam on September 3rd, 2018 6:00 am

it is obvious the mayor thinks his endorsement may sway some voters to vote for these 2 ladies. I guess that could happen. If his actions as mayor are an example of what they offer i sincerely hope they lose.

  23. resident on September 3rd, 2018 2:13 am

In that case I will surely vote for some one else.

I’m sure that’s just the boost they needed, support from the leader of a community government that can’t find it’s gas with both hands.
