HF, this event is for Correctional Officers but both institutions have administrative positions open pretty frequently. For current positions that are being advertised or to sign up to receive email notifications when positions are advertised, visit peoplefirst.myflorida.com. All applications are processed through that site.
We need some mature applicants. The is not a job for the immature. Inmates are very manipulative. Be ready to see things you have never saw or imagine to see.
Is this job fair strictly for correctional officer positions or are other positions (administrative, etc) available to be filled as well?
Century CI might not be the idea work place for most, but I worked there for over twenty years. I was able to support my family, keep insurance on my children and pay my bills. Don’t knock any employment, especially if your sitting around waiting on a government check. There are some really great people at Century CI.
I might just go put in an application, as I gave 21 years of my life in the military and feel that public service is a good thing.
I feel that it would be arrogant and presumptuous, to say that I could make these inmates into good citizens.
I do feel that I speak with great precision, when I say that they would never want to come back to Century Correctional.
You can bet they will hire you the same day if you are breathing.
